Hiring for the Post of Chief Executive Officer

Education:

Must possess a Master’s degree in business administration, public administration, finance, commerce, or marketing or equivalent from a well-reputed institute duly recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
OR be a member of a recognized body of professional accountants.

Experience:

At least ten years of experience in governance or business administration or finance or commerce or marketing or any other field relevant to the job in well-known organizations with commercial orientation.
OR Chief Executive or a senior management level in similar organizations that have commercial attributes.
OR at the level of member of a governing body of a professional institute or as a head of department.

Age Limit: Maximum 62 years

Role and Responsibilities:

Be responsible for the management of the Corporation and its procedures in financial and other matters under delegation from the Board.
Ensure the proper implementation of strategies and policies approved by the Board.
Put in place appropriate arrangements to ensure that funds and resources are properly safeguarded and used economically, efficiently, and effectively in accordance with the Corporation’s business plan, primary objective, and statutory obligations.
Any other role/responsibility as directed by the Board of Directors.

The Candidate Must Possess:

Knowledge of Shipping and Maritime will be an added advantage.
Demonstrated success in a senior leadership position.
Proven ability to engage with diverse stakeholders across the public and private sector.
Strong financial acumen and risk management expertise.
A proven drive to expand Corporation’s activities.
Strategic planning, resource deployment, and cross-functional business management.
Achieving objectives through required functional expertise.
Clear presentation and communication skills with stakeholders and Board-level interaction.
Proven interpersonal skills, capable of strengthening relationships with investors and business partners.

Other Requirements:

The incumbent shall be appointed in accordance with criteria prescribed under the State Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act 2023, the State Owned Enterprises (Ownership and Management) Policy 2023, and the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation Ordinance, 1979 (as amended to date).
The incumbent shall not be ineligible for the position in accordance with the requirements of fitness and propriety and the relevant provisions of Schedule IV of the SOEs Act and Companies Act, 2017.
The appointment shall be, initially, for a period of three years on a performance-based contract, extendable by another two years term on demonstration of substantial satisfactory performance.
