SITUATION VACANT: Allama Iqbal Open University AIOU invites online applications against the following positions on regular/contract basis

AIOU MAIN CAMPUS (Islamabad)

1. Assistant Director Regional Services (BPS-17)

No. of Posts: 01
Qualification: 2nd Class Master’s Degree or equivalent from a HEC recognized University.
Experience: Relevant experience shall be preferred in a Government / Semi-Government / Autonomous Body or in University of repute.
Age Limit: 32+5 years

2. Research Assistant (BPS-16)

No. of Posts: 04
Qualification: 16 years of education / 1st Class OR 2nd Class Graduates from a HEC recognized University.
Experience: Relevant Experience will be preferred OR 04 years relevant experience in a Government / Semi-Government or Autonomous Body, HEC recognized University preferably in BPS-14 or equivalent.
Age Limit: 25+5 years

3. Data Entry Operator (BPS-14)

No. of Posts: 01
Qualification: i. Bachelor’s Degree at least 2nd class.

ii. Minimum speed of 10,000 key depressions per hour.

iii. Knowledge of Computer Applications essential.

Experience: Experience in the relevant field preferable.
Age Limit: 25+5 years

4. Staff Car Driver to VC (BPS-11)

Qualification: i. Atleast Middle pass while matriculate will be preferred.

ii. HTV / PSV valid driving license.

Experience: 10 years experience of driving Staff Car with Head of the Education Institution / Chief Executive / Senior Officer etc.
Age Limit: 25+5 years

5. Driver (BPS-08)

Qualification: i. Atleast primary/middle pass while matriculate will be preferred.

ii. HTV/PSV valid driving license.

Experience: 10 years experience in driving light and heavy vehicles in a Govt. / Semi Govt. / Autonomous Body, preferably in educational instt./com./university.
Age Limit: 25+5 years

6. Driver (BPS-05)

Qualification: i. Literate

ii. HTV/PSV valid driving license

Experience: 02 years experience of driving light/heavy vehicles.

1. Regional Director (Punjab) (BPS-20)

Qualification: 2nd Class Master’s Degree or equivalent from a HEC recognized University.
Experience: 17 years professional / administrative experience in Grade-17 or above in relevant field in a Govt. / Semi-Govt. or Autonomous Body of repute preferably in any distance / non-formal institution, out of which 04-years mandatory experience in BPS-19 or equivalent.
Age Limit: 45+5 years

2. Additional Regional Director (BPS-19)

4. Assistant Regional Director (BPS-17)

Qualification: Second Class Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience: i. Typing speed 30 w.p.m.

ii. After induction 6 weeks basic IT Training Course (including MS Office) conducted by National Information Technology Board (NITB) or similar institution.

Important Points

Candidates selected against their respective provincial quota can be posted to any AIOU Regional Center in that province.
The eligibility of the candidates shall be determined as per AIOU Services Statutes 1978 (as amended up to 27th April 2026), relevant provisions of the Code, terms and conditions of the advertisement and subsequent instructions for recruitment. All details are available on AIOU website.
Maximum age limit relaxed under the Rules and strictly in accordance with the Relaxation of Upper Age Limit Rules, 1993 (amended from time to time), as provided in AIOU Services Statutes 1978 (amended up to 27th April 2026).
Applicants are required to apply online through AIOU Job Portal at www.aiou.edu.pk. Paid Fee Challan in original is required to be presented at the time of test/interview.
The candidates must submit their applications ONLINE. No hard copy of application is acceptable. However, at the time of written test/interview, the candidates will have to bring original documents for verification.
Applicants working on Regular/acting charge/officiating/ad-hoc/current charge, and/or contract basis in Government/Semi-Government and Autonomous Bodies (including employees of AIOU) must apply through proper channel and attach NOC (Departmental Permission Certificate) issued by the respective Competent Authority by due date, failing which application shall be considered incomplete and liable to be rejected.
Information claimed in online application form will be treated as final, subsequent claims of experience etc. any other matter, not given in online application form, are considered afterthought and an attempt to become eligible. Such subsequent claims will not be accepted.
The AIOU reserves the right to increase / decrease the number of posts or not to fill any post / withhold the appointment against any post, without assigning any reason thereof.
The applicant shall provide documentary evidence in support of all information claimed in the online printed application, as and when required by the University; otherwise, application may be considered ineligible.
Candidates are required to provide active/working cell number for SMS, and postal address for TCS/courier delivery. AIOU shall not be responsible for delay in delivery or non-receipt of SMS/letter.
Quota will be observed as per Government instructions/approved by AIOU statutory bodies.
The University reserves the right to appoint any individual on regular or contract basis in a given pay scale.
The Schedule of processing fee:
- BPS-20: Rs. 2000/-
- BPS-17 to BPS-19: Rs. 1500/-
- BPS-16: Rs. 1000/-
- BPS-11 to BPS-15: Rs. 500/-
- BPS-01 to BPS-08: No Fee
