CAREER OPPORTUNITIES: Central Power Generation Company Limited (CPGCL) — a Public Sector Power Generation Company operates under the Government of Pakistan and is located at Guddu, District Kashmore (Sindh), with additional plants in Quetta and Sukkur. CPGCL plays a vital role in the socio-economic development of the country by ensuring reliable and efficient power generation. The Company is committed to technical innovation, economic sustainability and environmental responsibility. Managing the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of its power plants. The O&M of the power complex is currently outsourced, while the owner’s management team oversees strategic, technical and operational functions. CPGCL invites applications from high caliber, energetic, proactive and result-oriented professionals for the following positions at Guddu, District Kashmore (Sindh).

INSPIRE TEAMS TO DELIVER BEYOND EXPECTATIONS
MANAGER OPERATIONS: Age Limit: 45 years (Subject to relaxation for suitable candidates) Manager (Operations) will be reporting to the CEO/GM Site or as advised by the Company regarding fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep a keen oversight of O&M contractor during day-to-day operations of combined-cycle units, HRSGs, auxiliaries, and BOP systems.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and OEM guidelines.
- Ensure cost-effective and economical operations of the plant.
- Coordinate with NPCC and NTDC for real-time load dispatch and generation schedule.
- Ensure adherence to NEPRA Grid Code, frequency, voltage, and synchronization protocols.
- Supervise and evaluate O&M contractor’s operations team for control room and field activities and provide support to O&M contractor when needed.
- Ensure operating parameters are maintained within safe and efficient limits.
- Monitor key operational KPIs including heat rate, reliability, availability, start-up time, and fuel efficiency.
- Recommend corrective actions to minimize or improve operational bottlenecks.
- Lead investigations of trips, alarms, and abnormal conditions.
- Ensure root cause analysis (RCA) and follow-up actions are properly implemented.
- Support planning and coordination for plant outages, shut-downs, and start-ups.
- Ensure proper system handover and safety protocols during maintenance.
- Enforce safety procedures, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), and control room discipline.
- Prepare daily, page, operational reports, and incident summaries for management.
- Coordinate with O&M contractor to Conduct on-the-job training for engineers, operators, and shift teams.
- Promote safe work practices and operational excellence culture.
- Liaise with Electrical/I&C/Operations etc. departments for cross-functional issues.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- B.Sc. or B.E. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering from HEC-recognized university. Masters shall be preferred. PEC registration required. Certification in Power Plant Operations, Dispatch, or CCPP systems preferred. 10-15 years of hands-on experience in operations of thermal/combined cycle power plants, with at least 2-4 years in a supervisory or managerial role is preferred. Sound knowledge of CCPP operations, grid synchronization, power dispatch, SCADA/DCS systems, PPA and other compliance requirements. Experience of EPC will also be preferred.

MANAGER I&C: Age Limit: 45 years (Subject to relaxation for suitable candidates) Manager (I&C) will be reporting to the CEO/GM Site or advised by the Company regarding fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee instrumentation systems including DCS, PLCs, analyzers, field instruments, and control valves.
- Develop and implement I&C maintenance strategies, schedules, and SOPs in line with OEM guidelines.
- Review equipment performance trends and initiate preventive or corrective actions as required.
- Lead I&C planning and execution for major outages and annual maintenance.
- Supervise testing, calibration, relay coordination, and system upgrades during planned shutdowns.
- Evaluate performance of O&M contractor in all I&C areas against defined KPIs.
- Validate completion of tasks, commissioning, and test protocols for compliance and quality.
- Ensure plant operations comply with NEPRA grid codes, NTDC/NPCC dispatch instructions, and CPPA metering protocols.
- Enforce electrical safety practices including lock-out/tag-out, earth earthing, and arc flash protection.
- Review SCADA and DCS data trends, alarms, and disturbances for root cause analysis.
- Maintain records of maintenance logs, trip reports, test results, and equipment history.
- Identify critical spares, raise requisitions, and coordinate with procurement and store for timely availability.
- Recommend equipment upgrades and modernization based on aging analysis.
- Liaise with NTDC, NPCC, CPPA-G, and regulatory authorities for metering, grid synchronization, and technical audits.
- Assist in internal audits, third-party surveys, and compliance reviews during inspections.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- B.Sc. or B.E. in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering from HEC-recognized university. Masters shall be preferred. Registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Certification in PLCs/DCS/SCADA systems. 10-15 years of progressive experience in E&I operations within combined cycle or thermal power plants. At least 2-4 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity in electrical and control systems. Hands-on experience in DCS (e.g., Mark VI, Emerson, etc) and field instrumentation. Foreign experience shall be preferred.

MANAGER ELECTRICAL: Age Limit: 45 years (Subject to relaxation for suitable candidates) Manager Electrical will be reporting to the CEO/GM Site or advised by the Company regarding fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure operational integrity of generators, switchgear, protection systems, excitation systems, and auxiliary electrical components.
- Oversee electrical systems including electrical control, motors, transformers, and other electrical equipment.
- Develop and implement electrical maintenance strategies, schedules, and SOPs in line with OEM guidelines.
- Review equipment performance trends and initiate preventive or corrective actions as required.
- Lead electrical planning and execution for major outages and annual maintenance.
- Supervise testing, calibration, relay coordination, and system upgrades during planned shutdowns.
- Evaluate performance of O&M contractor in all electrical areas against defined KPIs. Validate completion of tasks, commissioning, and test protocols for compliance and quality.
- Ensure plant operations comply with NEPRA grid codes, NTDC/NPCC dispatch instructions, and CPPA metering protocols. Enforce electrical safety practices including lock-out/tag-out, earth earthing, and arc flash protection.

ENGINEER RELIABILITY INTO EVERY SYSTEM
MANAGER MECHANICAL: Age Limit: 45 years (Subject to relaxation for suitable candidates) Manager Mechanical will be reporting to the CEO/GM Site or advised by the Company regarding fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in power plant mechanical maintenance. 2-4 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity in a combined cycle plant is preferred. Hands-on experience with gas/steam turbines, BOP, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, compressors. Familiarity with OEM standards (GE/Siemens), CMMS/ERP, and outage planning tools. Experience of EPC will also be preferred.

MANAGER HSE: Age Limit: 45 years (Subject to relaxation for suitable candidates) Manager (HSE) will be reporting to the CEO/GM Site or as advised of the Company regarding fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement site-specific HSE policies, SOPs, manuals, and risk management strategies.
- Ensure alignment with NEPRA, EPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and national safety codes.
- Conduct regular site inspections, hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety audits.
- Enforce permit-to-work (PTW), lockout-tag-out (LOTO), confined space entry, and fire safety protocols.
- Lead investigation of accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; ensure root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Maintain incident logs, reports, and statistical data in compliance with reporting standards.
- Develop annual HSE training plans and conduct surface talks, drills, and awareness campaigns.
- Train employees and contractors on emergency response, PPE use, first aid, and fire safety.
- Maintain site emergency response plans, fire evacuation procedures, and coordination with local responders.
- Ensure availability and readiness of firefighting systems, alarms, and medical aid.
- Monitor and audit O&M and project contractors for safety plan adherence.
- Issue safety non-conformance reports and ensure timely resolution.
- Monitor emissions, effluents, hazardous waste handling, noise, and chemical storage in line with EPA regulations.
- Ensure timely environmental reporting and renewal of permits/licenses.
- Liaise with SEPA, EPA, local authorities, and head office for regulatory inspections, documentation, and compliance.
- Submit monthly safety performance reports to management and Board.
- Liaise with Electrical/WCC/Operations etc. departments for cross-functional issues.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering/Environmental Sciences, or Occupational Health & Safety from HEC-recognized/PEC approved university. Certified in NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 14001 / 45001 Lead Auditor (preferred). Minimum 10-15 years of professional experience in HSE roles with at least 2-4 years in a power plant, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sector as Managerial role is preferred. Strong understanding of national and international HSE legislation, emergency response plans, and audit processes. Excellent Presentation skills will be plus.
LEAD WITH COURAGE AND PROTECT WITH PURPOSE
Manager Security: Age Limit: up to 55 years. Manager Security will be reporting to the CEO/GM Site or as advised of the Company regarding fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure 24/7 physical security of plant premises, gates, critical installations, and housing colonies.
- Conduct security risk assessments and implement access control protocols.
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies and district administration for intelligence sharing and response preparedness.
- Coordinate with O&M contractor for internal plant security.
- Develop site safety plan and ensure compliance.
- Economical use of company resources.
- Arrange logistical support and protocol services for VIP visits, board meetings and events.
- Supervise official events, meetings and site responses from government and regulatory agencies.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- (I) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Administration, Security Management, war studies, management Sciences or equivalent from HEC-recognized university and
- (II) Retired Officers of the Armed Forces of the rank equivalent of Lt. Col. and above. Preference will be given to those having experience in this relevant field. Only retired officers with an “Exemplary” service record and Medical category “A” need to apply.
