We are looking for Assistant Manager Costing – Finance department of our Head Office Karachi. This role is responsible for supporting the organization’s costing function and providing reliable financial
insights to improve efficiency, control costs, and enhance profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and update product cost sheets, standard costs, bills of materials, recipes, routings, and
overhead rates. - Analyze material price, usage, wastage, labour, utility, production-volume, and overhead
variances. - Investigate significant cost variances and coordinate corrective actions with Production,
Procurement, Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams. - Reconcile costing and inventory records with SAP, production, warehouse, and general-ledger
records. - Support annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and manufacturing cost planning.
- Analyze gross margin, contribution margin, break-even levels, and cost-to-serve.
- Support pricing, quotation, make-or-buy, outsourcing, product-mix, and cost-reduction decisions.
- Identify opportunities to reduce wastage, material consumption, downtime, utility usage, and
production losses. - Complete monthly cost roll-ups, overhead absorption, cost-of-goods-manufactured, and cost-of-
goods-sold calculations. - Prepare monthly costing reports, inventory reports, and management presentations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, internal controls, and audit
requirements. - Supervise assigned costing staff and ensure timely and accurate completion of reports and
reconciliations.
Qualification
- Bachelor/Master degree in Accounting/Finance or a related discipline.
- ICMA/CMA/ACCA/CA/CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
Experience & Competencies:
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in in manufacturing, FMCG, process, plastic, or PET industries.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, communication, coordination, planning, and time-management skills.
