Khyber Medical College, Peshawar – Situation Vacant

Applications are invited from candidates for the following positions at Khyber Medical College, Peshawar (MTI):

1. Chairperson
Specialties: Anatomy, Physiology, Forensic Medicine, Medical Education, Ophthalmology.
The position is on a three-year contract basis (extendable). Applicants must be free from disciplinary proceedings, inquiries, or misconduct and must be among medical faculty (only medical doctors). They will be assessed based on teaching, research, leadership, and management skills. A valid position at the Assistant Professor level or higher in the relevant specialty/department is required. Applications must be submitted within 15 days of advertisement, including a covering letter, CV, and names/addresses of three referees.

The criteria are based on MTIs regulations adopted by BoG MTI KTH/KMC/KCD and MTI Act 2015 (amended). The Chairperson will have a salary package equivalent to the faculty’s pay under MTI/KMC/KTH/KCD regulations. Institutional Based Practice (IBP) for clinical Chairpersons is mandatory. Chairpersons will not practice outside hospital premises and will receive IBP perks.

(*Chairperson is an honorary position, offering leadership/administrative experience.)

2. Professor
Specialties: Anatomy, Anesthesia, Dermatology, Psychiatry.
This is a three-year contract position. Eligibility is as per MTI Act, 2015 (amended), PM&DC regulations, and MTI-KP policy board.

3. Assistant Professor (Grade-18 Regular Contract)
Specialties: Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Orthopaedics.
Eligibility follows PM&DC 2018 regulations and MTI Act 2015 (amended).
Note:

For Thoracic Surgery, candidates with experience in surgical oncology are encouraged to apply.
For Vascular Surgery, candidates with experience in orthopedic oncology are encouraged to apply.

Candidates must attach attested testimonials, CNIC, experience certificates, academic credentials (SSC, HSSC, MBBS, degrees), professional certifications, gold medals, and other relevant documents.

Terms & Conditions

Applications from disciplinary-free applicants must be submitted with complete documents to the Dean, KMC, within 15 days of advertisement publication. Forms are available at www.kmc.edu.pk.
A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 3,000 must be deposited in NBP (Account No. NIDA-10-4).
If the closing date is a holiday, the next working day is considered the deadline.
Late applications will not be entertained.
Only post-qualification relevant experience will be considered.
HEC equivalency certificates must be provided for foreign degrees.
Candidates for Assistant Professor positions must submit names and contact information of three referees.
Incomplete or in-progress academic certificates will not be considered.
Candidates applying for multiple posts must apply separately for each.
Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
Services of selected candidates will be governed under the KPK Medical & Teaching Institution Reform Act, 2015.
Civil/Government servants must apply through the proper channel with a NOC.
Selected candidates must resign from other organizations upon joining.
