The Role:

This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Chemist-Mineral Lab at Bureau Veritas Group located in Karachi.

The Junior Chemist will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests, quality control, and research and development (R&D) activities. The Chemist/Analyst will also use analytical skills to analyze samples and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

Responsible to perform Mineral sampling, logging, testing & reporting of results as per defined SOPs.
Participate in proficiency testing & Inter-lab comparisons as per defined frequency & complete mandatory Technical/Non-Technical trainings as assigned by management
Responsible to participate efficiently in lab capacity building & develop testing competence as per requirement of newly added test parameters. Moreover, ensure full compliance with LIMS protocols.
Proper maintenance of record for all work-related activities
Responsible to perform the job in the framework of the BV Quality Assurance System, the Code of Ethics, and the BV Group policies.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geochemistry, preferably in Mineral & Ore Geochemistry or related field from a recognized University.
1-2 years’ Experience of Mineral Testing.
Laboratory Skills and Analytical Skills.
Awareness of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements.
Good knowledge of applicable quality control standards & regulations on Mineral Testing in Pakistan.
Research and Development (R&D) experience and Strong research capabilities.
Excellent MS Office Skills.
Communication, Problem-solving, Time management & Teamwork Skills.
Attention to detail and Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
