We are looking to add a member to our PD R&D team, who is an expert in handling PD R&D operations. A good fit for this role would be ideally someone who has the ability to play a pivotal role in elevating the business to create a benchmark amongst best industry practices.
The major areas of focus and expertise for an ideal candidate are:
- Manage all R&D Washing activities end-to-end to ensure smooth execution of operations
- Create new washes based on customer requirement
- Develop wash recipes for samples based on minimum liquour ratios and chemical consumption
- Manage denim collections, hangers, mappings etc. dynamically
- Prepare samples and support with first bulk production to ensure the right shade band
- Act as a link between production and customer to ensure customer requirements are developed in the best way possible and delivered to the production team in time
- Deliver all outcomes based on quality first principle and implement continuous improvement to reduce rejection in garment wet processing operations
- Ensure all sample washing is as per the standards set and according to customer requirements
- Maintain shade control to minimise unnecessary variation in the process
- Deploy a team development plan with specific relevance to coaching and training the team regarding functional competencies
Must haves:
- Knowledge of denim fabric, blue scan, LSF, laser, EIM, nano bubble technology, eco-friendly sustainable washes etc.
- Ability to develop counter sample recipes
- Idea about American & European washing requirements and trends
- Good leadership, multitasking, interpersonal, analytical and pressure handling skills and has an ability to drive processes through innovation and ownership
- Has at least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience of working in the R&D Washing team of a textile/manufacturing concern.
Qualification Requirements: Bachelors in Textile Engineering (specialisation in Garment Manufacturing) or an equivalent qualification.
The position will be based at the site in Feroze Wattwan, Sheikhupura.
