Role Summary
The University of Management and Technology (UMT) is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional for the position of Head of Procurement to lead and transform our procurement and supply chain function.
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving procurement excellence, ensuring transparency and compliance, and delivering value through efficient sourcing and supplier management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with institutional goals and financial plans.
- Lead policy formulation ensuring compliance, transparency, and governance.
- Oversee end-to-end procurement lifecycle.
- Drive cost optimization, strategic sourcing, and supplier diversification.
- Lead high-value contract negotiations and vendor performance management.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, audit requirements, and statutory obligations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver value-driven procurement solutions.
- Promote digital transformation and automation in procurement processes.
- Implement sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team.
Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications will be preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
- At least 5 to 7 years in a leadership/strategic role.
- Strong expertise in contract negotiation, vendor management, and procurement operations.
