Job Title: Accounts Officer / Specialist – Coal Mining Industry
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Officer / Specialist to join our Finance Department at the Karachi Office within the coal mining industry. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations. This position plays a key role in supporting the company’s financial health and operational transparency.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journals, ledgers, and other accounting documents.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate recording.
- Perform regular reconciliations of financial accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage and reconcile bank statements, and other financial accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Respond to vendor and internal accounting questions.
- Provide support to the finance team for audits and tax preparation.
- Manage voucher and financial file management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA-Inter, ACCA, or ICMA part-qualified candidates will be preferred).
- More than 3 years of proven experience in an accounting role within the finance department of a medium to large-scale firm.
- Proficient in using SAP system for financial transactions, reporting, and data management.
- Skilled in accounting software and advanced MS Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
- Sound knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) and local accounting principles in Pakistan, with the ability to accurately record and interpret business transactions.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in English and Chinese will be preferred.
