SITUATION VACANT: Pakistan Railways, Headquarters Office, Lahore, invites applications for the appointment/engagement of retired supervisory staff from the Signal & Mechanical Loco Department on a contract basis for one year. Candidates must have retired on superannuation (i.e., at the age of 60 years) and meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below. The appointment is subject to physical fitness.

Signal Department

1. Sub Engineer Signal (BPS-11)

• Number of Posts: 12
• Eligibility:
  • Retired officials from the post of Engineer Signal (BPS-11) or Signal Inspector (BPS-15) in Pakistan Railways.
  • Age should not be more than 62 years.
  • Must hold a Diploma in Electrical/Electronics (Telecom) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Alternatively, candidates with a Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecom (from the Board of Technical Education) with over 3 years of experience in Railway Signaling Projects can also apply.

Mechanical Loco Department

1. Foreman Mechanical/Electrical (BPS-14)

• Number of Posts: 03
• Eligibility:
  • Must hold a DAE in Mechanical.
  • Must have 10 years of experience in the relevant field.

2. Assistant Foreman Mechanical/Electrical (BPS-12)

• Number of Posts: 03

3. Sub Engineer Mechanical/Electrical (BPS-11)

• Number of Posts: 05

4. Mistry Mechanical/Electrical (BPS-06)

• Number of Posts: 02
• Eligibility:
  • Must have at least a Middle-level education.
  • Must have 10 years of experience in the relevant field.

Age Limit:

• The maximum age limit for all positions is 62 years.

Terms and Conditions for Contract Appointment:

1. Only candidates who have previously worked in the specified categories are eligible for contract appointments.
2. Selected candidates will receive their last drawn salary along with usual allowances, as per contract appointment rules. However, they will not be entitled to any benefits related to gratuity or pension.
3. The contract period is one year, which may be extended for an additional year if required by Pakistan Railways.
4. Pakistan Railways reserves the right to reject any application without providing a reason.
5. The number of available positions may be reduced without prior notice.
6. Selected candidates must pass a medical fitness examination conducted exclusively by Pakistan Railways Hospital.
7. Candidates who are medically unfit, dismissed, removed, or retired due to medical reasons will not be considered for appointment.
8. Only eligible candidates will be issued call letters for contract appointments.
9. No TA/DA will be provided for test, interview, or medical examination.
10. Selected candidates may be posted anywhere within the Pakistan Railway system.

Documents Required: Applicants must submit attested copies of the following documents:

1. Educational Certificates
2. National Identity Card (CNIC)
3. Railway Retired ID Card/Experience Certificate
4. Photocopy of PPO (if applicable)
5. Photocopy of LPC
6. Three recent passport-sized photographs
7. Three postal envelopes (with RAD card) containing the applicant’s full address and contact number
8. Experience certificate from the concerned organization (for Sub Engineer Signal BPS-11)

Submission of Application:

• Typed applications along with a complete biodata will be accepted.
• The last date for submission of applications is 21st February 2025. Applications must be sent to the Chief Personnel Officer, Pakistan Railways Headquarters Office, Lahore.
