We are looking for a dynamic and driven professional to manage end-to-end procurement of packaging materials, ensuring availability, quality, cost efficiency, and strong supplier performance to support smooth production operations.
Position: Assistant Manager – Procurement (Packaging)
Department: Supply Chain
Location: Karachi (Factory/Head Office)
Qualification & Experience
Master’s degree (preferably in Supply Chain, Business, or related field)
3–5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in packaging within FMCG or manufacturing industry
Strong knowledge of suppliers, packaging materials, and procurement systems
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end procurement of all packaging materials
Receive quantity requirements from Planning (MRP) and prepare fund plans
Schedule vendors based on approved fund planning
Convert PRs into Purchase Orders and share with suppliers
Track PO status, follow up on deliveries, and resolve supply issues
Maintain updated pricing, lead times, and supplier terms
Work with approved vendors and onboard new packaging suppliers when required
Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts to ensure cost efficiency
Monitor vendor performance and conduct audits/vendor capacity checks
Support budgeting and forecasting for packaging spends
Track market trends for films, resins, inks, and other packaging inputs
Ensure compliance with approved artwork, colors, and material standards
Manage sampling, shade cards, and trials before commercial production
Coordinate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, QA, and Marketing teams
Ensure timely availability of materials for routine production and new launches
Maintain procurement files, supplier records, contracts, and artwork documents
Share weekly reports on open POs, lead times, risks, and cost variances
Support internal and external audit requirements
Skills & Competencies
Strong negotiation & vendor management skills
Excellent understanding of packaging materials and supply market
Analytical, detail-oriented, and strong follow-up skills
Proficient in procurement systems & MS Office
Strong coordination and communication abilities
