ECHO TECHNOLOGIST
LOCATION: DR. ZIAUDDIN HOSPITAL, LINK ROAD KARACHI.
JOB SUMMARY:
To perform accurate and high-quality echocardiographic examinations and support cardiologists in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures within the ANGIO Department, ensuring patient safety, quality standards, and clinical excellence.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE) and assist in Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE).
- Prepare patients for echocardiography procedures, ensuring comfort, safety, and informed consent.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain echocardiography equipment to produce optimal diagnostic images.
- Document and provide preliminary echo findings for review by consultant cardiologists.
- Assist cardiologists during angiography and interventional cardiology procedures when required.
- Maintain accurate patient records, reports, and documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Adhere to infection control, patient confidentiality, and quality assurance protocols.
- Participate in departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, and training programs.
- Coordinate effectively with cardiologists, nurses, and technical staff to ensure smooth department operations.
- Keep updated with advancements in echocardiography technology and cardiac diagnostic standards.
KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCES:
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and echo protocols
- Proficiency in handling echo machines and reporting systems
- Excellent patient-handling and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
REQUIREMENTS:
- Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Cardiac Technology, Echocardiography, or Allied Health Sciences.
- Working Experience: 1–3 years of relevant experience in echocardiography (hospital or cardiac center experience preferred).
- Prior experience in ANGIO / Cath Lab / Cardiology Department will be an added advantage.
