FACULTY POSITION – SPORTS MARKETING
Job Summary:
Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi for its School of Business Studies (SBS) is seeking a dynamic and highly qualified individual for a full-time faculty position in Sports Marketing at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Sports Marketing or a closely related field and will be expected to contribute to the department’s academic and research missions through teaching, research, and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching
- Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in Sports Marketing and other marketing-related subjects.
- Utilize innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning.
- Supervise and mentor students, including advising on academic and career planning.
- Research
- Conduct high-quality research in the field of Sports Marketing, leading to publications in top-tier academic journals.
- Seek external funding to support research activities.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences.
- Service
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives.
- Engage in service to the academic community, such as reviewing for journals and serving in leadership roles in professional associations.
- Collaborate with industry partners and contribute to community engagement activities.
- Advising & Mentorship
- Provide academic and career advising to students.
- Supervise student research projects and theses.
Qualifications:
- A PhD in Sports Marketing, Marketing, or Business Administration with a specialization in Sports Marketing, or a closely related field, by the time of appointment.
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- A strong record of research and scholarly activity, with publications in reputable academic journals.
- Experience in securing external research funding is desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and industry partners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Practical experience in the sports industry.
- Involvement in professional organizations related to Sports Marketing.
