Vacancy Announcement: Applications for the following vacancies are invited on prescribed forms, which can be downloaded from www.pifd.edu.pk and accompanied by the original deposit slip showing Online Deposit (Habib Bank Limited, Islamic Bank, Expo Center Branch, Lahore Account No. 5039-70002688-51) / Pay Order / Demand Draft for Sr. No. 01, 02 of Rs. 2000 and for Sr. No. 03 to 06 of Rs. 1500 in favor of Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design as Application Processing Fee (Non-Refundable).

1. Professor (Equivalent to BPS-21)

Departments: Fashion Design, Art and Design, Textile Design
Number of Posts: Three (03)
Nature of Post: Temporary likely to be regular / CONTRACT as per PIFD Statutes
Minimum Qualification:
- a) PhD from HEC recognized University / Institution in the relevant field.
- b) Master’s degree (foreign) or M. Phil or equivalent degree in the relevant field from HEC recognized University / Institution. Preferably Professional Degree in the discipline of Design.
Minimum Experience:
- a) Twelve years teaching/research experience in PIFD / HEC recognized University / Post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization including at least five years post PhD level experience in the relevant field in a national or international organization with two years’ experience after the Masters (foreign) or equivalent degree in the relevant field in PIFD / HEC recognized University or a Post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization.
- b) Ten years teaching / research experience in the relevant field (post Masters) including five years teaching / research experience with at least eight years’ experience after Master’s degree (foreign) or M. Phil or equivalent degree in HEC recognized University or a Post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization.
Minimum Number of Publications for both categories: Outstanding and substantial level of professional Fashion / Design / Art activity and a national or international contribution to the development of Fashion and Design in general. Demonstrated by exhibitions at national or international level with two or more than two new works in each exhibition/Fashion Presentation or evidence of equal number of visual communication campaigns designed and published or equivalent work in any other discipline of Fashion / Design / Art as specified in the research criteria.

2. Associate Professor (Equivalent to BPS-20)

Departments: Fine / Creative and Visual Arts, Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing and Merchandising, Gems and Gemological Sciences, Textile Design & Management and Education.
Number of Posts: Six (06)
Nature of Post: Temporary likely to be regular / CONTRACT as per PIFD Statutes
Minimum Qualification:
- a) PhD in the relevant field from HEC recognized University / Institution
- b) Master’s degree (foreign) or M. Phil or equivalent degree awarded after 18 years of education in the relevant field from HEC recognized University/Institution.
- c) First professional degree/ diploma (4 Years minimum or equivalent awarded after 16 years of education) in First Division from PIFD (PSFD/Fashion Design) or any HEC recognized university/institution with no third division in the academic career.
Minimum Experience:
- a) Six years teaching/research experience in PIFD (PSFD Fashion Design)/HEC recognized University or a Post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization.
  - Note: After 30th June, 2015, at least four years post PhD level experience in a HEC recognized University or a Post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization will be required.
  - OR
  - Five years post PhD level experience in PIFD (PSFD Fashion Design)/HEC recognized University or a Post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization.
- b) Eight years teaching/research experience in PIFD (PSFD Fashion Design)/HEC recognized University or a Post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization with at least four years’ experience after the Masters (foreign) or equivalent degree in PIFD (PSFD Fashion Design) / HEC recognized University or a Post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization.
- c) Ten years teaching/research experience in PIFD (PSFD/ Fashion Design)/HEC recognized University or a Post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization.

Departments: Management, Art and Design, Fine / Creative and Visual Arts, Fashion Design, Furniture Design and Manufacture, Leather Accessories and Footwear Design, Geological Sciences, Ceramic and Glass Design.
Number of Posts: Ten (10)
Nature of Post: Temporary likely to be regular / CONTRACT as per PIFD Statutes
Minimum Qualification:
- a) PhD in the relevant field from HEC recognized University / Institution.
- b) Master’s degree (foreign) or M. Phil or equivalent degree awarded after 18 years of education in the relevant field from HEC recognized University / Institution.
- c) First professional degree/ diploma (4 Years minimum or equivalent awarded after 16 years of education) in First Division from PIFD (PSFD for Fashion Design) or any HEC recognized university/ institution with no third division in the academic career.
Minimum Experience:
- a) No experience required.
- b) Three years teaching / research experience in PIFD (PSFD/ Fashion Design)/HEC recognized University or a Post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization.
- c) Five years teaching /research experience in PIFD (PSFD/ Fashion Design)/HEC recognized University or a Post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization.

4. Lecturer (Equivalent to BPS-18)

Departments: Fashion Design, Fashion Design and Production, Fashion Marketing and Merchandising, Fashion Marketing and Communication, Textile Design, Textile Design and Production, Jewellery Design and Gemological Sciences, Furniture Design and Manufacture, Leather Accessories and Footwear, Leather Apparel and Accessories Design, Ceramic and Glass Design, Fine / Creative and Visual Arts.
Number of Posts: Ten (10)
Nature of Post: Temporary likely to be regular / CONTRACT as per PIFD Statutes
Minimum Qualification & Experience:
- a) First professional degree / diploma (4 Years minimum or equivalent awarded after 16 years of education) in First Division from PIFD (PSFD/Fashion Design) or any HEC recognized university/institution with no third division in the academic career.
- Teaching / Work experience in an educational institution will be preferred.

5. Lecturer (Equivalent to BPS-18)

Department: Art & Design Education, Design Management
Number of Posts: Five (05)
Nature of Post: Temporary likely to be regular / CONTRACT as per PIFD Statutes
Minimum Qualification and Experience:
- Master’s degree (foreign) or MPhil or equivalent degree awarded after 18 years of education in the relevant field from HEC recognized University / Institution.
- First professional degree (4 Years minimum or equivalent awarded after 16 years of education) in relevant field in First Division from any HEC recognized university / institution with no third division in the academic career.
- Teaching / Work experience in the relevant field in an educational institution will be preferred.

6. Teaching Associate (Equivalent to BPS-17)

Departments: Fashion Design, Fashion Design and Production, Fashion Marketing and Merchandising, Fashion Marketing and Communication, Textile Design, Textile Design and Production, Jewellery Design and Gemological Sciences, Furniture Design and Manufacture, Leather Accessories and Footwear, Leather Apparel and Accessories Design, Ceramic and Glass Design, Fine / Creative and Visual Arts.
Number of Posts: Fifteen (15)
Nature of Post: Temporary likely to be regular / CONTRACT as per PIFD Statutes
Minimum Qualification & Experience: Minimum 4-Year Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent (with major in relevant field) from HEC recognized university or any accredited foreign university. Experience of working in an educational institution will be preferred.

Additional Information:

Application forms complete in all aspects with all bank deposit slips with attested copies of educational and experience documents, must reach the undersigned on or before 14th September, 2024. Applications received after due date and incomplete will not be entertained.
Appointment will be made on open merit basis, however 2% quota for disabled persons will be implemented.
Candidates already in Government Service should apply through proper channel and submit NOC along with their applications.
Only short-listed candidates will be called for test/interview.
Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.
No TA/DA will be paid for test/interview.
PIFD reserves the right to fill or not fill any of the above-mentioned post and accept or reject any application without assigning any reason.
