Pakistan Refinery Limited is seeking profiles for the position of Assistant Shift Boiler Superintendent in our Operations (Boiler House) Department. The ideal candidate should be a D.A.E (Mechanical) with 2nd Class / C Class Boiler Engineer Certification from a recognized institution (valid certification). The candidate should have at least 2–3 years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience on BMS and DCS control systems.

JOB TITLE : Assistant Shift Boiler Superintendent
REPORTS TO : Shift Manager Plant Operations
LOCATION : Karachi, Pakistan

The Assistant Shift Boiler Superintendent will report to the Shift Manager Plant Operations and work under the functional supervision of the Shift Boiler Superintendent to ensure the safe and smooth operation of all boilers, including planned and emergency shutdowns, startups, troubleshooting, and annual maintenance activities. The incumbent is expected to be well-versed in the operation of associated equipment such as compressors, pumps, furnaces, and turbines, and will be responsible for optimizing fuel consumption in line with material and energy balance requirements. This position requires maintaining logbooks, log sheets, and monitoring boiler feedwater (BFW) quality along with process parameters within limits. The incumbent will also report promptly to the Shift Boiler Superintendent to resolve day-to-day operational issues.
Education: 2nd Class / C Class Boiler Engineer Certification from a recognized institution (valid certification) with D.A.E. in Mechanical.
Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 2 years hands-on experience on BMS and DCS control systems. Experience in the Oil & Gas sector is preferred.
Technical Competencies: Troubleshooting, emergency risk management, operations and control, PTW system knowledge, and computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint).
Non-Technical Competencies: Problem solving, teamwork, result orientation, effective communication, and strong safety awareness.
