Position Specific Overview

Bykea is looking for a strong Sr. Software Engineer to join its engineering team that is constantly building new products on our superapp to provide the best quality service to the customers on a single application. Surrounded by engineers passionate about front end, backend and computer science in general, you will exponentially grow your technical skills as well as have a huge impact on the overall business and millions of
customers in Pakistan.

This position will be tasked with these main objectives:

Build solutions using your strong background in distributed systems, and large scale database systems.
Research, analyze, design, develop and test the solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies.
Participate in design discussions, code reviews and project related team meetings.
Work with other engineers, Architecture, Product Management, QA, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions that meet business needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules and adherence to development principles and product goals.
Develop technical & domain expertise and apply to solving product challenges.
Identify performance bottlenecks and come up with novel ways to solve them.
Design and implement scalable web service APIs.

Requirements – What you roughly look like as a professional:

Experience & Qualifications:
a. 5+ years of software design and development experience, solid
foundation in computer science with strong competencies in data
structures, algorithms, Web Services, design patterns and software
design.
b. Risk domain expertise is a major plus.
c. Excellent decision-making, communication and collaboration skills.
Skillset:
a. Excellent knowledge of architecture and design patterns, open source
platforms, frameworks, technologies and software engineering
methodologies.
b. Hands-on experience in Node.JS, CubeJs, Relational Databases, NoSql
databases, REST, Event Source, Web Sockets, HTML5, CSS3, RWD, JQuery is
highly desirable.
c. Experience with big data solutions such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive,
Pig, Kafka, Storm etc. is a major plus.
Personality
a. Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and work independently with
minimal to no supervision
b. Ability to communicate complex information, concepts, or ideas in a
confident and well-organized manner through verbal, written, and / or
visual mean
