Hiring on Contract Basis

Economist

No. of Posts: 01 (Open Merit Basis)
Age Limit: Max. 45 Years
Qualification / Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Economics/Public Policy from an HEC-recognized national/foreign university with a minimum of ten years of post-degree professional experience.
- Or PhD in Economics/Public Policy from an HEC-recognized national/foreign institution with a minimum of five years of post-degree professional experience.
- In-depth knowledge of customs tariffs, tariff classification, trade policy, input-output tables.
- Experience in macro-econometric modeling and policy simulations. The applicant must have worked on large tariff/trade data, consisting of millions of observations, on trade.
- Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, machine learning, and cloud computing for data management and analysis.
- A proven track record of published research papers in peer-reviewed journals and recognized research organizations (at least 10), preferably in the field of international trade.

Research Associate

No. of Posts: 03 (Open Merit Basis)
Age Limit: Max. 35 Years
Qualification / Experience:
- First-Class Master’s Degree in Economics/Public Policy from an HEC-recognized national/foreign institution with a minimum of five years of post-degree professional experience.
- Or PhD in Economics from an HEC-recognized national/foreign university with a minimum of two years of post-degree professional experience.
- The applicant must have an understanding of customs tariffs, tariff classification, trade policy, and input-output tables.
- A proven track record of published research papers in peer-reviewed research journals and recognized research organizations (at least 5), preferably in the field of international trade.

Data Analyst

No. of Posts: 01 (Open Merit Basis)
Age Limit: Max. 35 Years
Qualification / Experience:
- Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, or Computer Science from an HEC-recognized national/foreign university.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, SQL, R, Excel (especially VBA/Macros), Tableau, and Power BI. Knowledge of JavaScript and React JS will be a plus.
- Knowledge of statistical methods and econometrics, particularly in the field of trade policy and customs tariffs.
- Working experience of working with large datasets, conducting data cleaning, and performing complex data analysis must be submitted with the application.
- Applicants having Azure Data Scientist Associate or AWS Certified Machine Learning certifications will be given preference.

Additional Details:

Positions are based in Islamabad and are on a contract basis initially for a period of three (03) years and extendable for a further two (02) years, subject to performance evaluation. The selected candidate will be offered a lump sum salary. The salaries of the selected candidates will be revised annually with a 10% increase, based on satisfactory performance.
