DESCRIPTION

Literacy and Life Skills department at TCF is leading the non-formal education program for out-of-school-children in Pakistan in the 8-16 years age bracket. The department is looking to hire a Senior Manager for Curriculum to primarily oversee content development of teacher guides, student workbooks for Numeracy, Literacy and Life Skills. Additionally, content for areas like community engagement and teacher training will also fall within the purview of the Senior Manager.

Plan and / or review academic plans for each module for literacy, numeracy and life skills
Develop and / or review monthly unit plans for literacy, numeracy and life skills
Review lesson plans and student workbooks developed by subject specialists for literacy, numeracy and life skills
Review compiled teacher guides and student workbooks for literacy, numeracy and life skills
Gather both qualitative and quantitative data from field visits on implementation of teaching and learning materials through classroom observations, interviews, focus groups, assessments and review of written documentation
Repurpose previously created formats and curriculum content in response to the information from the field and to meet the changing design and contextual needs of the program
Develop and/or review assessments for literacy, numeracy and life skills
Analyze training needs and refine training model accordingly
Oversee the design and/or develop subject specific training modules and assessments
Prepare clear, user-friendly reports, presentations, and data visualizations for the LLS team
Provide support in relevant cross-functional projects
Develop work plans for the program and support with other administrative tasks
Support with grant-writing for the program
Other activities related to the program.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Experience of developing yearly and unit plans for literacy, numeracy and life skills
Experience in designing teacher guide/ lesson plans and students workbooks for numeracy, literacy and life skills
Experience of developing and administering student assessments
Experience of teaching children from primary or middle to secondary grades
Experience of managing a team of subject specialists
Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse constituencies at the grassroots level
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong command in speaking, reading and writing in English, Urdu and Sindhi (preferred for Sindhi)
Familiarity with the National Curriculum.
Strong attention to detail in reviewing documents

EDUCATION: Masters (Preferably in Education)
EXPERIENCE: 6-8 years of experience in curriculum development for primary grades. Apply
