JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Officer Tax to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring tax compliance, preparing tax returns, and assisting in tax planning. The role requires a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, along with the ability to analyze financial data and provide accurate tax reports.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and file monthly and annual tax returns (Income Tax, Sales Tax, Withholding Tax, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial tax laws and regulations.
- Maintain tax records and documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
- Assist in tax planning strategies to optimize tax liabilities.
- Conduct research on tax laws and updates to ensure accurate tax reporting.
- Liaise with tax authorities for queries, audits, and notices.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely tax payments.
- Support in preparing financial reports related to taxation.
- Assist in tax reconciliation and analysis of tax implications on business operations.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar tax-related role.
- Part-qualified candidates (ACCA, CA, ICMA) are encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
