Position: Financial Controller/ Sr. Manager Accounts

Systems: Microsoft Dynamics 365 (ERP), Advanced Excel

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Own the complete month-end and year-end close calendar and ensure the books are closed within the agreed number of working days each month.
Prepare and the monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statement with prior-month, prior-year comparisons.
Prepare outlet-wise P&L and contribution analysis.
Review and approve all journal entries — accruals, prepayments, depreciation, provisions and reclassifications — with supporting documentation retained for audit.
Ensure all reporting complies with applicable accounting standards (IFRS / IFRS for SMEs) and company policy.
Train and supervise the accounts team and outlet staff on correct Dynamics entry and control procedures, and maintain written SOPs for all key finance processes.
Control inventory valuation and costing in Dynamics, ensuring landed cost are correctly captured.
Oversee physical stock counts at all outlets and the warehouse; reconcile counts to system quantities and report shrinkage by outlet with root-cause analysis.
Monitor gross margin by outlet, category and SKU.
Review daily cash reconciliation for every outlet POS collection against cash deposited against bank credit.
Review monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.
Manage the cash flow forecast and working capital position, monitor liquidity and advise the Directors on funding requirements.
Manage banking relationships.
Control the payables cycle, including three-way matching of purchase order, goods receipt note and invoice before any payment is released.
Verify sales incentive and bonus calculations for outlet staff against approved policy and actual outlet sales before payroll release.
Contribute to annual budgeting exercises across all outlets and departments and keep tracking the approved budgets.
Design, document and enforce internal controls over cash, inventory, procurement, payroll and expenses; test them periodically and report exceptions.
Manage the external audit prepare the audit file and lead schedules and act as the primary contact for auditors through to signed accounts.
Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, tagging and deperciation.
Lead, supervise and develop the accounts and finance team, including outlet-level accounting staff.
Set clear deliverables and deadlines for each team member and review their output before it reaches management.
Build bench strength and cross-training so that no single process depends on one individual.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Qualification: CA / ACCA / ICMA (qualified or finalist), in Finance with strong technical accounting grounding.
Experience: Minimum 5–8 years in accounting and finance, including at least 2–3 years as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or equivalent supervisory role.
ERP (essential): Demonstrable hands-on working experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Business Central or Finance & Operations). Candidates must be able to describe the specific modules and processes they have operated, configured or implemented — general familiarity or “exposure” is not sufficient.
Sector: Experience in retail, multi- outlet, FMCG
Technical: Working knowledge of IFRS and of local tax and statutory requirements.
