Role Overview

NBP Funds is seeking a highly analytical and driven Commodity Manager to oversee and optimize commodity-linked investment portfolios. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of global and local commodity markets (including gold, oil, and agricultural products) and the ability to translate market volatility into profitable investment strategies for clients.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Management: Manage and execute trades for commodity-based funds and PMAs, ensuring alignment with investment policies and risk mandates.
Market Analysis: Conduct rigorous fundamental and technical analysis of global commodity trends, supply-demand dynamics, and geopolitical impacts.
Strategic Hedging: Develop and implement hedging strategies to mitigate price risks and protect fund performance.
Research & Reporting: Prepare detailed investment committee reports and provide actionable insights on PMEX (Pakistan Mercantile Exchange) and international market movements.
Compliance: Ensure all trading activities adhere to SECP regulations and internal Shariah-compliant guidelines (where applicable).

Desirable Education, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. CFA charter holders or candidates progressively pursuing the CFA program will be highly preferred.
Experience: 3–5 years of active experience in commodity trading, portfolio management, product development or investment research, ideally within an AMC, bank, or brokerage house.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in PMEX trading platforms and Bloomberg/Reuters terminals; strong mathematical modelling skills using MS Excel.
Soft Skills: Sharp decision-making under pressure, impeccable integrity, and strong communication skills.
