Pakistan Refinery Limited is seeking profiles for the position of Engineer Operations in our Operations (Boiler House) Department.

JOB TITLE : Engineer Operations

REPORTS TO : Shift Manager Plant Operations

Job Purpose: The Engineer – Operations is responsible for reviewing daily operating parameters, monitoring critical process variables, optimizing chemical and lubricant consumption, supporting plant test runs, and recommending process improvements. The incumbent will analyse production losses, monitor fuel usage, and ensure compliance with applicable environmental and HSE regulations. The role includes active involvement in plant start-up and shutdown, troubleshooting process upsets, and preparing shutdown procedures to ensure safe and reliable operations. The incumbent is responsible for implementing the Permit to Work System (PTWS) to ensure safe maintenance activities and prevent equipment failures. In case of abnormal conditions or emergencies, the incumbent will respond promptly, initiate corrective actions, and as directed by the Shift Manager, safely shut down equipment or the plant. Immediate reporting of incidents and active participation in the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) are essential.

Education: B.E. / B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering
Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in refinery or process industries.

Technical Competencies: Process monitoring, control & troubleshooting of operating parameters and equipment abnormalities in DCS based operations, plant start-up & shutdown operations; energy and material balance analysis; PTWS implementation; emergency handling & risk mitigation; coordination for asset reliability and performance optimization with working knowledge of SAP, ensuring compliance with HSE requirements.
Non-Technical Competencies: Analytical decision-making, ability to perform under pressure in a shift environment, effective communication and team coordination, adaptability to dynamic operating conditions, and a result-oriented approach.
