Position: Infection Control Officer

Location: Dr. Ziauddin Hospital, Clifton Campus

Job Summary

The Infection Control Officer is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating infection prevention and control practices within the hospital. The role includes identification, investigation, prevention among patients and healthcare staff. The officer ensures proper isolation practices, maintains accurate surveillance records, conducts staff training and awareness programs, and supports the development and enforcement of hospital infection control policies to ensure a safe clinical environment.

Job Responsibilities

Monitor, prevent, and control healthcare-associated infections.
Conduct infection surveillance and maintain accurate records and reports.
Implement and monitor infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
Ensure proper isolation precautions and standard infection control practices.
Conduct staff training and awareness programs on infection control.
Participate in outbreak investigations and corrective actions.

Knowledge and Competencies

Ability to develop, implement, and review infection control policies and procedures.
Knowledge of infection prevention and control principles and practices.
Awareness of hand hygiene, PPE usage, sterilization, disinfection, and biomedical waste management.

Requirements

Education: Diploma in General Nursing / Diploma in Midwifery / Post RN BScN / BScN / MSN / Diploma in Infection Control.
Experience: 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
