SITUATIONS VACANT: Applications on the prescribed proforma are invited from suitable candidates for the following posts on a contract and regular basis under the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) through the Online Recruitment System and P.O. Box No.1418, GPO, Islamabad.

1. Fact Checker (Lump sum pay package: Rs. 100,000 – Rs. 150,000 per month)

Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education).
• At least 2 years of work experience in relevant areas.
• Knowledge of the electoral context in Pakistan.
• Experience working with international NGOs shall be preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong English written and communication skills.

Job Details:

• Contract Basis: 1-year term.
• Age Limit: 30 years.
• Number of Posts: 2.
• Domicile: Merit-based.
• Place of Posting: Liable to serve anywhere in Pakistan.

2. Non-Linear Editor & Graphic Designer (BS-16)

Qualification and Experience:

• Minimum Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in graphic design, digital design, computer science, or a relevant technology field from an HEC-recognized institution.
• At least 2 years of experience in WEB/Multimedia/Graphic Design or a related field.
• Strong practical knowledge and technical proficiency in Adobe Premiere, InDesign, Corel Draw, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
• Experience in graphic design, digital production, and color management.
• Proficiency with desktop publishing tools like Photoshop, Dreamweaver, QuarkXPress, Illustrator, and wireframing tools.
• Experience in Facebook, Twitter Post, YouTube Thumbnails, badges, and logo designs.
• Knowledge of Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO).
• Strong understanding of new and evolving digital technologies.
• Good communication skills in Urdu and English (written and verbal).
• Proficiency in layout aesthetics, UI/UX design.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is preferred.

Key Responsibilities for the Post of Fact Checker

a) Digital Media Monitoring:

• Monitor all major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
• Track emerging narratives, trends, and misinformation related to ECP.
• Develop real-time tracking mechanisms for viral content and ECP-related discussions.
• Identify and categorize potential misinformation sources.

b) Fact-Checking and Verification:

• Verify claims, statements, and narratives circulating on digital platforms.
• Cross-check information with official sources and authenticated records.
• Prepare detailed fact-checking reports with evidence and source citations.
• Develop rapid response protocols to counter electoral misinformation.

c) Reporting and Communication:

• Produce detailed reports on digital media trends and misinformation.
• Track and develop strategies to address critical misinformation affecting electoral integrity.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders and digital media teams.
• Maintain a database for monitoring disputed claims.

General Terms & Conditions:

1. Age Relaxation: As per Initial Appointment to Civil Posts (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit) Rules, 1993.

4. Government Employees: Those working in Government/Semi-Government/Autonomous bodies must apply through the proper channel.
5. Auto-Generated Application: Applicants must attach the auto-generated online application as a cover note with hard copies.
6. Late Applications: Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
7. Test/Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for test/interview. No TA/DA will be provided.
8. Vacancy Changes: The ECP reserves the right to increase, decrease, or cancel any advertised posts without giving a reason.
