Cherat Cement Company Limited. (part of Ghulam Faruque Group) is looking for a qualified and experienced professional for the position of AGM Procurement, based at our Head Office in Karachi

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or relevant discipline); MBA/Master’s in Supply Chain, Operations, is an advantage.
10+ years of progressive experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Technical Procurement, or Supply Chain, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, cement, energy, industrial, process, or other asset-intensive industries.
Proven expertise in Should Cost Analysis, Reverse Engineering, QVE/Value Engineering, localization, alternate sourcing, supplier development, and strategic negotiations, with a strong track record of cost reduction.
Strong experience in Engineering, MRO, CAPEX, projects, fabrication, mechanical/electrical/instrumentation, services, and indirect procurement, preferably across multiple business units or Group companies.
Strong SAP MM/ERP proficiency, stakeholder management, and ability to manage complex priorities while ensuring procurement governance, commercial discipline, and effective coordination with cross-functional teams

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end procurement across Group companies covering technical, engineering, MRO, CAPEX, projects, indirect, and operational categories.
Develop and implement Group procurement and sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and supply continuity.
Drive Should Costing, Cost Breakdown, Reverse Engineering, QVE/Value Engineering, and Total Cost of Ownership initiatives to deliver sustainable cost savings and sourcing efficiencies.
Lead Design-to-Cost, specification optimization, standardization, material substitution, localization, and alternate sourcing initiatives in collaboration with technical and user departments.
Develop, evaluate, and strengthen local and international supplier base, ensuring improved cost, quality, delivery, technical capability, and responsiveness.
Lead strategic negotiations and commercial evaluations for high-value and critical procurement, including payment terms and working capital optimization.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Maintenance, Projects, and other stakeholders to identify fit-for-purpose solutions without compromising quality, reliability, or safety.
Monitor market trends, commodity prices, exchange rates, freight, duties, and other cost drivers to support effective sourcing and commercial decisions.
Ensure adherence to Group Procurement Policy, Delegation of Authority, SAP controls, sourcing processes, and audit requirements.
Drive procurement performance through KPIs covering savings, supplier performance, OTD, PR-to-PO lead time, payment terms, sourcing productivity, and open commitments.
Maintain procurement dashboards, savings trackers, supplier performance reports, and management updates for Group leadership.
Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team while strengthening technical sourcing capabilities across the Group.
Coordinate procurement priorities, critical sourcing requirements, and escalations across diversified Group businesses.
