Asian Development Bank ADB Jobs Senior Project Officer: The Central and West Asia Public Management, Financial Sector and Trade Division (CWPF) is accountable for the origination, management and reporting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB)’s sovereign loan, and guarantees portfolio targeting operations in Public Management and the Financial Sector. The Pakistan Resident Mission (PRM) and CWPF collaborate to achieve this mandate in Pakistan. The position reports to Country Director PRM for administrative matters and Director CWPF for subject matter. The incumbent contributes to the build-up and development of a “best in class” portfolio origination and management function involving:

specialized project and credit risk due diligence and management of ADB’s financial sector portfolio of projects;
management of government and participating financial institution client relationships;
monitoring and assessment of operational and administrative functions; and
project implementation and administration.

This specific role requires an understanding of how to conduct credit and valuation analysis in respect of financial institutions and an understanding of debt and equity products.

The incumbent will become involved with projects at the point of loan preparation supporting project team leaders in carrying out due diligence of relevant sovereign, public and private entities and for Board Approval followed by signing of legal agreements and management of client’s performance in executing the projects. The latter involves among others setting up project information on ADB’s internal systems and processing of transaction-relevant tasks The incumbent will work as a member of a team led by a project team leader and unit head Financial Sector at PRM.

The qualified candidate will need to possess good skills with respect to (i) a deep understanding of credit risk and how financial, business and market dynamics impact individual project and portfolio performance, (ii) active asset and project management (particularly important when things are going wrong) and (iii) client relationship management. The ability to multi task is essential.

The role involves working confidently and credibly with sovereign borrowers, and participating financial institutions, colleagues at PRM, CWPF and the Central and West Asia Department as well as other relevant staff at ADB and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in Pakistan.

The role involves travel within Pakistan and other ADB’s developing member countries (DMCs). Apply
