GOVERNMENT OF THE PUNJAB AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT

SITUATION VACANT: Applications are invited from eligible candidates domiciled in Punjab for recruitment on a contract basis under the Punjab Resilient and Inclusive Agriculture Transformation (PRIAT) Project (2022-23 to 2026-27) (World Bank Financed) under Directorate General Agriculture (Water Management), Punjab.

Project Director

PPS: 12

Salary: Project pay scale 12 @ Rs. 600,000 per month with an annual increment
Age limit: Maximum 60 Years
Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:
- 18 years of education in Agriculture Engineering/ Water Resource Engineering/ Water Resource Management from an HEC recognized University.
- Should have 5 years’ experience as Project Director/ Project Manager on high-impact projects related to farm water management or water resource management or agri. engineering or irrigation & drainage.
- Proven experience of at least 20 years working in projects related to farm water management or water resource management or agri. engineering or irrigation & drainage.
- Proven leadership quality to run foreign funded mega projects.

Deputy Project Director (HEIS & Solar)

Age limit: Maximum 50 Years
Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:
- Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering/ Water Engineering/ Water Resource Management/ Irrigation Engineering/ Management or equivalent with 10 years’ experience in the implementation of agriculture development and water resource projects in ADP/ donor funded projects.
- Found experience in high-efficiency irrigation systems & ADP/ donor funded projects is mandatory.

Audit & Taxation Specialist

Age limit: Maximum 45 Years
Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:
- Master’s degree in Accounting & Finance/ Audit & Taxation/ ACCA/ FCMA or equivalent from HEC recognized University with a minimum of 05 years’ experience.
- At least five (05) years post qualification relevant experience preferably in public sector with a reputed chartered account firm.
- Familiar with Audit management in government sector having experience in internal audit, external audit, tax management, control management, and risk management.

Horticulture Expert

Age limit: Maximum 45 Years
Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:
- Master’s degree in Horticulture/ Agri Marketing/ Agri Business/ Agriculture/ Agronomy/ Agriculture Engineering/ Agriculture Value Chain Development with a minimum of 08 years’ experience in horticulture, agriculture value chain, regenerative agriculture.
- Proven post qualification experience of eight (08) years in horticulture, agriculture value chain, and regenerative agriculture is required.
- Familiar with the development and implementation of horticulture value chain in donor/ World Bank funded projects.

Agricultural Communication Specialist

Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:
- Master’s degree in Mass Communication/ Journalism/ Agriculture with a minimum of five (5) years post qualification relevant experience.
- Experience in analyzing agricultural information, data, statistics, trends to support effective communication delivery.
- Ability to draft articles, statements, briefing notes, opinion pieces, talking points, speeches, key messages, and other communication outputs in English and Urdu in coordination with project management.

Female Trainer

Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:
- Master’s degree in Gender Studies/ Social Work/ Public Policy/ Women Development Studies or related discipline from a HEC recognized University with a minimum of five (5) years.
- Proven post qualification relevant experience of five (5) years.
- Experience in carrying out gender training needs assessments and able to implement the gender training action plan and capacity development.
- Familiar with conducting community workshops, consultations with stakeholders and other vulnerable groups to recommend specific concerns and implementation measures under the project.

Assistant Director (Technical)

Salary: Project pay scale 8 @ Rs. 175,000 per month with an annual increment
Age limit: Maximum 40 Years
Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:
- Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering/ Water Engineering/ Water Management/ Irrigation Engineering or equivalent from HEC recognized University with a minimum of 07 years’ experience in ADP/ donor funded projects.
- Proven post qualification relevant experience of five (5) years in ADP/ donor funded projects is required.

NOTE:

Relaxation in upper age limit is not admissible.
In case of other relevant degrees, the equivalence certificate issued by the HEC/Competent Forum will be provided by the candidate.
Retired Government servants are not eligible. The contract appointment is temporary in nature, non-transferable, job/post specific, non-pensionable & conferring no right for regularization. The contract appointment will be initially for 01 year which can be extended up to project period with the approval of competent authority.
In case the project period is reduced/enhanced, contract appointment order will be amended accordingly with the approval of competent authority.
The recruitment will be made strictly on merit in all Punjab basis in accordance with the selection & eligibility criteria approved in the PC-1.
The applications on prescribed form (which can be downloaded from www.agripunjab.gov.pk) addressed to Secretary Agriculture, Government of the Punjab, 21-Davis Road, Lahore clearly indicating the post applied for along with curriculum vitae (CV), three passport size recent photographs and attested copies of all relevant documents, CNIC/certificates/degrees, which include detailed marks certificates including CGPA, Hafiz-e-Quran Certificate, position in Board/University, issued by recognized Board/University/Institute, must reach by 22.08.2024. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered and only eligible candidates will be called for test/interview. No TA/DA shall be paid.
The candidates can also apply at www.jobs.punjab.gov.pk. However, hard copy of application form along with complete attested relevant documents is mandatory to submit to this department within due date.
List of eligible candidates shall be displayed on the notice board 03 days prior to the interview in addition to the interview call letters. In case of any query/ clarification, the candidate may approach ADP Section, Government of the Punjab, Agriculture Department, Lahore at least two days prior to the interview date.
List of successful candidates shall be displayed on the Notice Board in addition to the issuance of offer of appointment letters after approval of the recommendations of Department Selection/Recruitment Committee, by the competent authority.
The competent authority has the right to increase or decrease the number of posts.
The selected candidates under the project are not entitled for the benefit of any pay protection and regularization.
No post falls under the quota reserved for Women, Minorities and Disabled persons.
