Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) Jobs April 2021:

Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) has been set up by the Federal Government with a mandate to provide world-class digital and physical infrastructure through setting up Special Technology Zones (STZs) across the country and putting Pakistan on global technology radar.

Position: Executive Director/Member: Chief of Corporate Affairs & Compliance
Age Limit: 55 Years | Reports to: Chairperson – STZA

As Chief of Corporate Affairs & Compliance, you will provide leadership to STZA on end-to-end enterprise management of corporates including but not limited to zone developers and zone enterprises. You will liaison with the tech corporate industry globally and locally to promote interests of STZA with focus on building the government’s focus in enabling the technological ecosystem. Critical to this role will be ownership of the overall contracts management process at STZA while ensuring all aspects of compliance and risk-management from Ordinance/Act perspective through duly applicable laws and regulations. You will play an enabling leadership role for STZA on one-window operations while ensuring necessary involvement of all stakeholders internal as well as external to STZA. STZA will seek your expertise on managing Bids/RFP for projects initiated with an effective system of controls while ensuring full applicability of compliance parameters.

Key requirements:

  • Minimum academic qualification for this role is a graduate/bachelor’s degree in business preferably with specialization in finance from a national or foreign university recognized by HEC.
  • You will have at least 20 years of professional experience with minimum 8 years in C-Level or equivalent position in large national or international companies/organizations in relevant positions wherein you would have had a proven track record of adding significant value in related areas.
  • Must have strong corporate and government linkages along-with expertise in providing and enabling solutions that focus on creating ease of business.
  • Attention to detail with strong tech-driven skills and abilities is a must for this role.
  • You must have proven track record of managing compliance & controls frameworks with strong risk assessment and contracts management working knowledge

Position: Director Marketing & PR

Age Limit: 55 Years | Reports to: Chairperson – STZA

As Director Marketing & PR, you will lead and champion the Marketing & Public Relations (PR) domain at STZA. You will be responsible for design and execution of STZA strategy from a marketing perspective which includes but is not limited to formulation of long-term and short-term marketing plans aligned with broader organizational objectives of STZA. You will enable cross functional coordination on marketing and PR initiatives, supervise marketing operations and ensure successful event managements that creates a significant impact not only on local/domestic scale but also on global scale. You will be responsible for effectively managing and hiring strategic partners such as Creative, Digital, Media and PR agencies. One of the key deliverables will be to undertake business development initiatives through and from Special Technology Zones while leveraging STZA scope both on local and international scale. As a function head of Marketing & PR, you will own and lead all related/relevant processes with effective and transparent systems of controls and accountability.

Key requirements:

  • Minimum academic qualification for this role is a graduate/bachelor’s degree in business administration with specialization in marketing from a national or foreign university recognized by HEC.
  • You will have at least 12 years of professional experience with at least 3 years in Head of Marketing or equivalent position in large national or international companies/organizations that have a fast paced, fast evolving and dynamic environment. Tech-driven marketing experience will be an added advantage.
  • Must not only be aware but have expertise in creating impact through successful marketing & PR interventions on the digital landscape through tech driven drivers and impact creators.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication and engagement skills with an impactful result oriented personality.
  • You must have a proven track record of successfully leading impactful marketing campaigns on digital/social media, electronic and print-media platforms.
  • Maximum impact creation and delivery through successful utilization of Marketing & PR budgets with transparent, effective and responsible handling with complete end-to-end reporting/ownership.

Position: Director Legal
Age Limit: 55 Years | Reports to: Chairperson – STZA
As Director Legal, you will lead the legal domain at STZA with responsibility to represent and act as legal expert on behalf of STZA. One of your key accountabilities will be to identify and analyze the potential legal risks in all organizational matters with timely communication/escalation of the same to relevant and key stakeholders in the organization. You will also be responsible to keep the management informed of development of laws and regulations that potentially impacts the organization. Legal leadership from this role will be ensured through proactive, in-depth, relevant legal advice to the organization and relevant stakeholders. Key deliverable that STZA expects from the Head of Legal will be to design and execute initiatives and processes that ensure STZA remains legally compliant at all times with prime focus on setting standards that reinforce a culture of integrity, quality and ethical behavior in all our organizational transactions, engagements and dealings.

Key requirements:

  • Qualified Barrister from an accredited and recognized law school.
  • You will have at least 10 years of professional experience with at least 2 years in Head of Legal or equivalent position in large national or international companies/organizations that have a fast paced, fast evolving and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and engagement skills with an impactful result oriented personality.
  • You must have a proven track record of leading negotiation on complex, high value, contracts and legal agreements.
  • Legal expertise related to Pakistan’s corporate law, constitutional framework, patent and copyrights legislation/knowledge is a must.

Position: Director Policy, Research & Market Intelligence
Age Limit: 55 Years | Reports to: Chairperson – STZA
This is one of the strategic roles at STZA as it will interface and interact with government think tanks, academia and industry on policy making, research and publications. You are expected to have a tech-driven mindset and be a visionary leader with in-depth knowledge of academic policy and execution of publication frameworks with relevant content and expertise/competence in ownership of the publication content. You are expected to have already established global outreach and professional relationships with technology parks and renowned leading technology academic institutions. You will champion STZA market intelligence on technology parks and research to gain insights for our stakeholders in new methodologies and approach with timely and continuous reporting/communication tools. One of the major deliverables from this role will be to establish linkages with universities and other relevant ministries & institutions such as (including but not limited to) HEC, TEVTA etc.

Key requirements:

  • Minimum academic qualification for this role is a graduate/bachelor’s degree in Education/Social sciences with national or foreign university recognized by HEC. Advanced relevant academic qualification will be an added advantage
  • You will have at least 10 years of professional experience with at least 2 years in Head of Policy/Research or equivalent position in large national or international companies/academic institutions with technology focus and/or mandate.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication and engagement skills with an impactful result oriented personality.
  • You must have a proven track record of successfully articulating/drafting/executing technology focused publications and research work.
  • Established professional relationship and linkage with academia internationally and locally.

Position: Office Coordinator
Age Limit: 30 Years
You will maintain, coordinate and manage the schedules/calendars of Executive Directors/Members, including coordination with internal departments on logistics and meeting preparation. You should be able to handle the administrative tasks required to maintain an extremely active calendar of the Executive Directors/Members. As Coordinator, you will also coordinate internally to prepare the necessary briefing details for the relevant staff in a timely manner and also assist with the prioritization of issues that require the immediate attention of the concerned executive.

Key requirements:

  • Minimum academic qualification for this role is bachelor’s/graduate degree in in business, technology, social sciences, law, engineering, sciences or relevant fields from a national or foreign university recognized by HEC.
  • You will have 3 years of professional experience in a relevant field, with at least 2 years in coordination and administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to maintain courteousness and responsiveness in the face of demanding situations that includes but is not limited to working in a matrix reporting structure.
  • Being tech savvy with excellent IT & presentation skills is a must requirement for this job.
  • Past experience of providing administrative support to high level executives will be a plus.
