VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) is a state-owned enterprise responsible for the exploration, mining, and marketing of various minerals. It operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division, Government of Pakistan.

PMDC invites applications for the following post on an open contract basis with a market-competitive package:

Position:

Chief Geologist (Geo Science)

Qualification:

Masters with 16 years of education in Geology or a relevant qualification from a Higher Education Commission recognized university.

Experience: Minimum 10 years of post-qualification relevant experience. Professionals with a track record of driving and leading minerals exploration functions in the mining industry shall be preferred. Must have experience in the exploration and evaluation of mineral resources using the latest techniques and software.

Age: 50 Years

Key Job Responsibilities:

Supervising and coordinating geological exploration activities to identify and evaluate potential mineral deposits.
Managing the process of resource estimation to assess the size, grade, and economic viability of mineral deposits.
Ensuring the proper collection, storage, and analysis of geological data to support decision-making processes.
Overseeing geotechnical studies to assess the stability and integrity of mine structures, including pit walls, waste dumps, and underground workings.
Contributing to the development of exploration strategies and targets based on geological interpretations and regional geological knowledge.
Participating in due diligence assessments for potential acquisitions, joint ventures, or investment opportunities.
Preparing technical reports, including exploration reports, resource estimation reports, and geological interpretations, for internal use and regulatory compliance.
Providing guidance, mentoring, and training to junior geologists and technical staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in geological exploration and resource estimation.
Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and environmental standards related to geological exploration and resource development.
