Assistant Manager – Contract Management & Forecasting – Commercial
The ideal candidate should have the following qualification, experience and skill sets:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Law/Business Administration/Commerce/Finance from a recognized institution. Professional certifications in Contract Management (e.g., IACCM, CIPS, or equivalent) etc.
- Very strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel (financial modelling, projections) and Word (track changes, contract formatting).
- Pakistani, below 42 years old. Chinese language skills will be an advantage.
- Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in contract management, commercial coordination, bid handling, documentation control, preferably within an IPP, EPC, or industrial setup.
- Proven experience in coordinating contract reviews among multiple stakeholders.
- Exposure to financial forecasting, cost estimation, and projection analysis will be a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work under tight timelines, manage multiple review cycles, and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Knowledge of Bidding & Contract Regulations: Familiar with applicable bidding laws, procurement regulations, and corporate policies governing contract management and tendering.
- Contract Management Expertise: Capable of handling the complete contract lifecycle — from drafting, internal circulation, and stakeholder review to finalization and filing.
- Professional Integrity: Conscientious, responsible, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and commitment to deadlines.
The main responsibilities of the position will involve:
- Tender & Bidding Management: Prepare tender documents, RFPs, bid evaluation guidelines, and bid evaluation reports in line with company procedures and procurement regulations.
- Negotiation & Cost Optimization: Negotiate with contractors and service providers to secure the most cost-effective and commercially favourable terms.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, negotiate, and execute contracts and amendments, ensuring compliance, stakeholder review, and timely completion of approval processes.
- Forecasting & Projections: (a) Prepare cost forecasts, price projections, and variance analyses for coal procurement, transportation, and handling contracts, (b) Support in developing monthly and annual financial forecasts for contractual obligations, payment schedules, and coal index exposure (e.g., API4).
- Analyze data to identify cost-saving opportunities and performance trends.
- Tracking & Recordkeeping: Maintain contract ledgers, tracking values, payments, forecasts, and renewals, and ensure proper archiving for audit and compliance purposes.
- Reporting & Support: Prepare concise contract status, payment progress, and forecast reports for management review.
