Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager Finance (Taxation) to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing federal and provincial sales tax returns, conducting associated reconciliations with financial records, and dealing with notices such as audits, assessments, and monitoring. The candidate should have a profound understanding of federal and provincial sales tax laws, as well as a strong knowledge of income tax matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file federal and provincial sales tax returns accurately and timely.
- Conduct reconciliations between sales tax records and financial statements.
- Handle notices from tax authorities, including audits, assessments, and monitoring.
- Stay up to date with changes in federal and provincial sales tax laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance on taxation matters to internal teams and departments.
- Collaborate with external auditors during tax audits and assessments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and organized records related to taxation.
