CAREER OPPORTUNITIES: Sindh Madressatul Islam University is one of the fastest-growing universities in the country. It is a chartered University duly recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. It is one of the oldest institutions in South Asia, which started as a school in 1885, became a college in 1943, and a university in 2012. Its campus is located in the commercial hub of Karachi near I.I. Chundrigar Road, Karachi, and comprises some of the most beautiful colonial-era buildings. The Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah studied at this institution for about five years from 1887-92. Today, it has state-of-the-art academic facilities as well as highly qualified faculty and offers graduate and undergraduate programs in various disciplines.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates domiciled in the Province of Sindh for the following position on a tenure basis:

Position: Registrar (BPS-20, Tenured Post, Maximum Age: 55 Years)
Qualification / Experience:

Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree awarded after 16 years of education from an HEC recognized university / institution.
Minimum 17 years’ experience of administration in a responsible position, preferably in government or an educational institution/university.
At least five years’ experience as head of a department in BPS-20 or equivalent.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

Ensuring due compliance and implementation of the provisions of the University Act, Statutes, Regulations, Senate & Syndicate decisions, Government notifications, and court orders.
Bringing any deviation to the notice of the Vice-Chancellor.
Custodian of the common seal of the university and responsible for monitoring and supervising university affairs in coordination with all departments.
Responsible for all matters related to the establishment, administration, academics, security, law & order, and discipline.
Conducting statutory body meetings (Senate, Syndicate, Academic Council) as Secretary.
Conducting elections to the Senate and Syndicate.
