Shift Supervisor – Power Generation – YII – Marafiq

JOB PURPOSE:

Supervise and monitor the control room and field operator activities in order to ensure continued operation of the STG plant in a safe and reliable manner and production of uninterrupted supply of electric power.

JOB CONTEXT:

The job reports to the Shift Charge Engineer. The jobholder is primarily responsible for ensuring smooth, safe and reliable operation of the STG plant and provision of uninterrupted supply of electric power. The jobholder, on a daily basis, is exposed to noise, fumes, high pressure lines, high voltage, high speed rotating equipment. The jobholder is challenged to maintain a high level of good housekeeping and heightened awareness and compliance with safety procedures and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

 University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Minimum Experience:

 5 – 6 years’ relevant operational experience in a heavy industrial environment.

 1 – 2 years’ experience in power plant operations and STG

 Previous supervisory/man-management experience.

Job-Specific Skills:

 Detailed and expert process knowledge of STG operation.

 Sound understanding of all relevant plant and equipment.

 Understanding of plant capability.

 Sound understanding of preventative/predictive maintenance techniques and practices.
