Job Purpose:

To lead the development and enhancement of NFL products ensuring seamless execution from concept to launch which elevates NFL’s growth and maintains the organisation’s reputation for delivering excellence

Job Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive product development strategy in line with NFL’s business goals, evolving market trends and consumer preferences
Lead brainstorming sessions and idea generation by working closely with cross-functional teams to generate innovative ideas for new food products or improvements to NFLs existing product range
Work closely with the IRD and Marketing team to translate ideas into product concepts which includes defining product specifications, features, and attributes
Oversee the entire product development process, from recipe formulation and ingredient selection to prototype development and testing whilst ensuring all products meet the applicable quality, safety, and regulatory standards
Lead/participate in sensory testing and consumer panels to gather feedback on taste, texture, and overall acceptability of NFL’s products
Stay updated in changes to regulations (local and international) to ensure that all new/enhanced products comply with relevant food safety and regulatory standards
Work closely with the Quality team assurance team to establish and maintain product quality standards, including food safety and consistency
Work closely with the manufacturing team to scale up prototypes to commercial production levels ensuring there is a smooth transition from development phase to manufacturing
Oversee the implementation of multiple product development projects simultaneously, ensuring all relevant teams and stakeholders to meet the agreed deadlines, goals and budgets
Manage product development budgets and seek to optimize costs without compromising the quality or safety of products
Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges associated with product development, such as supply chain disruptions or formulation-related issues
Ensure all records for product development activities, including recipes, formulations, and test results are handed over comprehensively to the Research Centre and Knowledge Hub for proper storage

Background Requirements:

Education: Bachelors/Masters in food sciences, food technology, food engineering / relevant discipline
Experience: 10 + years of relevant experience, in a similar/fast-paced company.
