The individuals who fulfill the below basic-eligibility criteria may apply for the following position:

01 Position / Job Title: Wing Head โ€“ Rates Trading (AVP / VP)

Reporting to: Divisional Head โ€“ Trading

Educational / Professional Qualification

  • Minimum Graduation or equivalent from a local or international university/college/institute recognized by the HEC
  • Candidates having Masterโ€™s Degree with majors in Finance / Accounting / Business would be preferred
  • Candidates having CFA / FRM / ACI Dealing Certificate / ACI Diploma would be preferred

Experience

  • Candidates having at least 06 years of relevant experience in MM / Rates trading within in Treasury of a Bank / DFI / NBFI

Other Skills / Expertise / Knowledge Required

  • In-depth knowledge of interest rate products, fixed income markets, and macroeconomic factors affecting interest rates
  • Strong ability to analyze market data, economic indicators and interest rate environment to make informed decisions
  • Proficiency with trading platforms, financial modeling and quantitative analysis tools
  • Deep understanding of risk parameters and management techniques
  • Capability to lead and motivate rates trading team
  • Well conversant with relevant regulatory guidelines

Outline of Main Duties / Responsibilities

  • To manage both investment and trading fixed income portfolios within allocated limits
  • To develop and execute trading and investment strategies
  • To propose Asset Mix for managing balance sheet risk within allocated limits
  • To monitor and keep track of financial markets developments, economic indicators and interest rate trends
  • To prepare investment proposal for participation in Government securities auctions
  • To analyze yield curve movement and take advantage of anticipated shifts vis a vis yield curve arbitrage
  • To liaise with FCG / Treasury operations on all Rates Trading matters
  • To prepare and present performance report of Rates Trading Wing
  • To perform any other assignment as assigned by the supervisor(s)

Reporting to: Divisional Head โ€“ Centralized Operations

Educational / Professional Qualification

  • Minimum Graduation or equivalent from a local or international university/college/institute recognized by the HEC
  • Candidates having a Masterโ€™s degree and / or relevant diploma / certification(s) will be preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 08 years of banking experience, out of which 04 years of experience in supervising ADCs Operations / Reconciliation

Other Skills / Expertise / Knowledge Required

  • Up-to-date knowledge about regulatory requirements with respect to Alternate Delivery Channels (ADCs) recon / settlements
  • Knowledge of banking operations, including familiarity with transaction processing, reconciliation procedures, and financial reporting standards
  • Understanding of IT systems and software used for ADC recon & financial systems (like GL systems)
  • Ability to interpret financial data, understand ledger entries and reconcile discrepancies
  • Knowledge of financial instruments and their settlement processes will be an added advantage
  • Understanding of risk factors associated with ADC settlements, including operational risks, fraud risks, and compliance risks
  • Ability to implement process improvement plans and have problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead and manage a team for targeted performance
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills and must be adaptable & flexible

Outline of Main Duties / Responsibilities

  • To manage day-to-day settlement operations for Alternate Delivery Channels (ADCs), such as ATMs, online banking, and mobile banking
  • To ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions through Alternate Delivery Channels (ADCs)
  • To carry out settlement and reconciliation of ATM Cash Withdrawal / IBFT / UBPS / POS / P2CNIC / Raast transactions
  • To review and update GL reconciliation account, such as; understand the transaction flows / patterns within comparison to switch data
  • To ensure compliance with regulatory requirements specific to Alternate Delivery Channels (ADCs)
  • To keep abreast of changes in regulations related to electronic banking and settlements
  • To identify and mitigate the risks associated with transactions through Alternate Delivery Channels (ADCs)
  • To implement security measures to protect customer data and prevent fraud
  • To oversee the integration of new technologies for efficient and secure settlement processes
  • To collaborate with IT teams to meet the technological infrastructure supporting Alternate Delivery Channels (ADCs)
  • To continuously evaluate and improve settlement processes by optimizing transaction flows and implement process/procedures to address customer complaints and inquiries for ADCs
  • To liaison with internal / external stakeholders i.e., ADC business, branches, local acquiring banks etc.
  • To handle and resolve settlement-related disputes specific to Alternate Delivery Channels (ADCs)
  • To build and maintain relationships with third-party vendors, technology partners and other stakeholders involved in Alternate Delivery Channel settlements
  • To generate regular reports for management on settlement efficiency, error rates, and other relevant indicators
  • To represent the Bank in discussions with external partners related to settlements in electronic banking
  • To perform any other assignment as assigned by the supervisor(s)

Educational / Professional Qualification

  • Candidates having Masterโ€™s Degree and/or relevant certification(s) would be preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in the Banking industry, out of which 10 years in Corporate Banking and/or cash management role
  • Candidates having 03 years of experience in leadership role will be preferred

Other Skills / Expertise / Knowledge Required

  • Strong analytical and structuring skills
  • Sound understanding of products and services offered in Corporate & Investment Banking
  • Excellent Relationship Management skills and credit related expertise
  • Thorough understanding of the needs of local and regional corporate client base as well as regulatory regime will be an advantage

Outline of Main Duties / Responsibilities

Account Coverage Responsibilities:

  • To implement the business strategy, responsible for client/business origination and coverage, as well as achieve sales/business targets, in terms of the number of clients acquired and maintained as well as the revenue generated
  • To establish new electronic and innovative methods in managing payments, collections, information management, account services, liquidity management and investment services for corporate and/or commercial clients through provision of cash management products
  • To collaboratively work/interact with internal business partners and stakeholders including client coverage, risk mitigators and operations to drive sales acquisition, sales pipeline conversion and deal implementation
  • To ensure that the highest professional standards of customer service is provided to NBPโ€™s customers with an end to secure both new business and to deepen the existing business relationships
  • To manage the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies and structuring of mature Cash Management deals and to effectively channel customer and sales team feedback to the product development team

Business Development & Revenue Generation Responsibilities:

  • To work in partnership with other Business & Support functions of the bank including but not limited to Asset & Liability products, Treasury Services, Markets Sales (FX), Cash Management, and other lines of business, to develop, structure, market and execute client business and maximize returns to the Bank
  • To support Business Banking Relationships for joint marketing calls and cross sell/up-sell cash solutions to client and conduct trainings to Relationship Managers in the area of solution selling to clients
  • To ensure completeness of the necessary documents for registration and set up for implementation of solutions and to provide feedback on any product requirements or any issues faced to product team
  • To achieve the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) assigned in terms of asset book building, cross-selling including FX, Trade Finance and other products and services offered by the Bank
  • To monitor risk effectively and keep abreast of market developments to ensure proactive or remedial actions are taken to maintain the desired level of risk in line with the Bankโ€™s overall Policies & Procedures
  • To monitor the performance of the cash management division and prepare periodic reports in this regard to ensure that any deviations are identified, reported in a timely manner and that actions are adjusted to achieve set annual action plans

Other Responsibilities:

  • To review Cash Management proposals in order to ensure its quality, accuracy and data integrity and adherence to NBPโ€™s policy and guidelines and to submit and recommend proposals to the Divisional Head โ€“ Cash Management Division for onward submission to concerned committees for approval
  • To keep abreast with all Regulatory Guidelines (including State Bank of Pakistanโ€™s Prudential Regulations) as well as internal NBP Requirements (including credit policies) and ensure strict compliance
  • To maintain NBPโ€™s internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
  • To drive the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices within the function; taking into account โ€˜international best practiceโ€™, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
  • To perform any other assignment as assigned by the supervisor(s)
