Mughal Iron & Steel Industries Limited is one of Pakistan’s leading steel and industrial manufacturing groups with diversified operations in ferrous, non-ferrous, energy, and infrastructure-related businesses. The organization is seeking a highly accomplished, strategically driven, and risk-focused professional for the position of Head of Internal Audit based in Lahore.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a dynamic audit professional who can strengthen governance, enhance internal controls, drive operational transparency, and support the organization’s growth through proactive risk management and business partnering.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Internal Audit function across all business units, plants, and corporate operations.
Develop and execute a comprehensive risk-based annual internal audit plan.
Evaluate effectiveness of internal controls, governance frameworks, operational processes, and compliance mechanisms.
Conduct audits relating to:
- Manufacturing operations
- Procurement & supply chain
- Inventory & stores
- Finance & treasury
- Sales & commercial operations
- CAPEX projects
- ERP systems and IT controls
- Identify control weaknesses, fraud risks, leakages, and operational inefficiencies with actionable recommendations.
- Present audit findings, risk assessments, and strategic insights to senior management and Audit Committee.
Ensure compliance with:
- Corporate governance requirements
- IFRS / applicable accounting standards
- Regulatory and statutory obligations
- Company SOPs and policies
- Lead investigations into suspected fraud, misconduct, or policy violations where required.
- Strengthen enterprise-wide risk management and compliance culture.
- Coordinate effectively with external auditors, regulators, and management teams.
- Drive automation, continuous improvement, and data analytics within the audit function.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing internal audit team.
Qualification:
CA / ACCA / CMA / CIA or equivalent professional qualification.
Additional certifications in Risk Management, Fraud Examination, or ERP Audit will be an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum 15=18 years of progressive audit experience, including significant exposure in large manufacturing, steel, industrial, construction, or diversified business groups.
At least 5 years in a head audit role.
Strong exposure to operational audits, risk management, governance, and compliance frameworks.
Technical Competencies
Strong understanding of:
- Internal audit methodologies
- Risk-based auditing
- Corporate governance
- Internal controls & compliance
- ERP environments (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365)
- Manufacturing and industrial operations
- Excellent analytical, investigative, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong report writing and presentation capabilities.
- High professional integrity, independence, and commercial acumen.
