PAKISTAN COUNCIL OF SCIENTIFIC & INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH (PCSIR)

POSITIONS VACANT

Applications are invited from Pakistani nationals for appointment, purely on a contract basis, for one year (extendable till the completion of the project on a performance basis) against temporary posts in the PSDP project titled “Gene Editing of Biological Agents for Nutritional Biochemical and Therapeutic Purposes” at PCSIR Labs Complex, Ferozepur Road, Lahore on a lump-sum pay basis. The details are as under:

Research Officers (PPS-7)
- Qualification and Experience: Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Synthetic Biology, Metabolic Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, etc., preferably with relevant research experience.
- Responsibilities: Selected candidates will be responsible for performing research and development in the assigned field, along with the operation and maintenance of project-related activities. Should possess good work ethics. Candidates with experience in CRISPR/Cas systems and/or handling automated fermenters will be preferred.
- No of posts: 01
Research Associate (PPS-6)
- Qualification and Experience: MS in Biotechnology, Synthetic Biology, Metabolic Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc., preferably with relevant research experience.
- Responsibilities: Selected candidates will perform assigned tasks along with the operation and maintenance of project-related activities. Should possess good work ethics. Candidates with experience in CRISPR/Cas systems and/or handling automated fermenters will be preferred.

Admin Officer (PPS-7)
- Qualification and Experience: At least M.Sc./M.A. (Economics) (16 years education) with excellent communication skills and at least 05 years of office administration, accounts, human resource management experience in the public sector, and preferably experience in PSDP projects.
- Responsibilities: The candidate will be responsible for handling accounts, administration, and other project-related matters and should possess good work ethics.

Lab Technicians (PPS-5)
- Qualification and Experience: At least B.Sc. or equivalent (14 years education) with 2-3 years of experience in an R&D organization/public sector.
- Responsibilities: The candidate will perform tasks related to lab/pilot plants and other project-related matters and should possess good work ethics.
- No of posts: 02
Office Assistants (PPS-5)
- Qualification and Experience: At least B.A/B.Com or equivalent (14 years education) with 2-3 years of experience in an R&D organization/public sector, preferably in PSDP projects.
- No of posts: 01

Important Instructions:

The selection will be made purely on merit basis.
Applications should be duly supported by CV and attested copies of CNIC, Domicile Certificate, Education Degrees/Certificates, and one recent passport-size photograph.
Incomplete applications will not be entertained.
Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the test/interview.
TA/DA will not be paid for appearing in the test/interview.

The posts are purely on a contract basis for a stipulated period of time, and there is absolutely no process of being regularized.
The selection committee reserves the right to withhold the appointment against the advertised post in case no proper candidate is available.
