We are looking for Import Officer
Based in Karachi
Qualifications
- 2 – 3 years of import operations experience
- Bachelors or equivalent HEC recognized degree
Knowledge and skills
- In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, import documentation, and trade compliance.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using logistics and shipment tracking software.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
To assist in achieving departmental objectives through:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all import transactions.
- Coordinate with customs brokers to facilitate the efficient clearance of goods.
- Facilitate the Consultant and the Freight Forwarder in timely submission of required documentation.
- Monitor the status of shipments through the customs process to ensure timely release and delivery.
- Liaise with international suppliers, freight forwarders, and shipping lines to schedule and track import shipments.
- Ensure all shipment details are accurately logged and tracked from origin to destination.
- Manage and resolve any issues related to shipment delays, damages, or discrepancies.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on shipment status, delays, and any other pertinent information.
- Stay informed about changes in customs regulations, trade laws, and industry best practices.
