The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Researcher (one position). The ideal candidate will have a understanding of competition laws, market trends, and regulatory frameworks and will be responsible for producing data-driven insights to support the Commission’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, conduct and analyze comprehensive studies and reports on competition-related matters.
Provide expert advice and insights on economic and policy research to support the Commission’s objectives.
Develop frameworks for analyzing market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics across various sectors.
Analyze data on both micro and macroeconomic levels, providing insights for policy formulation.
Collaborate with internal departments, including Legal, Advocacy, and Enforcement, to provide data-driven research to support regulatory decisions.
Engage with external stakeholders such as government bodies, international organizations, and academic institutions to facilitate research collaboration.
Oversee the preparation of academic research publications, policy briefs, and technical reports, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and clarity.
Manage and mentor a team of research analysts, providing guidance on methodology, data collection, and interpretation.
Assign research tasks to the research team based on the needs and requests from various departments of the Commission.
Conduct background research to support the development of competition strategies and policies.

Professional Credentials and other Requirements:

Ph.D in Economics, Law, Statistics, or Business related discipline from an HEC recognized local or foreign University.
Minimum 2-5 years of relevant professional experience in research and analysis. The professional must also have experience in leading a team, preferably in a research institute.
A track record of research publications in reputable journals or conferences will be advantageous.
Competence in managing data preparation, analysis, research and drafting
Full working knowledge of Competition-related matters in Pakistan and ability to place them in a comparative framework.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with large datasets and perform quantitative analysis.
Proficiency in research tools and statistical software.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Max age for the position is 50 years including general age relaxation.

Remuneration: The Commission offers a competitive salary, commensurate with candidate’s qualification and overall experience.

General Terms and Conditions:

The appointment will be made on contract basis, for a period of two (02) years further extendable, subject to satisfactory performance.
The candidate possessing the requiste qualification, experience and age may apply. Only shortlisted candidates based on qualification and experience will be called for the interview and no TA/DA will be given to the candidates who appear in the test/interview.
The candidate may be regularized subject to satisfactory performance within the contract period.
Government employees may apply through proper channel after getting NOC from the parent department.

Candidates who try to exercise undue influence during the selection process will be disqualified immediately.
