Job Title: Grants and Research Officer
Job Type: Contractual (Extendable)
Department: Office of Research, Innovation and Partnerships (ORIP), BNU
The Grants and Research Officer will play a central role in managing research grants, supporting project implementation, and facilitating institutional partnerships. The incumbent will oversee grant documentation, maintain data systems, coordinate departmental activities, and support the development and execution of collaborative initiatives in line with BNUโs research and innovation strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
-Manage ongoing grant-funded projects, including tracking progress, monitoring deliverables, and supporting implementation.
-Draft, review, and maintain Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with national and international partners (corporate and academic).
-Coordinate and organize research-related events, seminars, and meetings.
-Maintain and update the database of potential funding agencies and grant opportunities (national and international).
-Manage the departmentโs CMS portal, digital repository, and archival system for grants and partnership documents.
-Collaborate with internal departments, academic schools, and management units on project-related tasks and institutional processes.
-Liaise with the Finance Department to prepare and review grant budget proposals and financial documentation.
-Monitor project deadlines and ensure timely submission of reports and deliverables.
-Support proposal writing, institutional reporting, and communication with external partners and funding agencies.
-Any other tasks assigned by the Director ORIP/ HoD
Qualifications:
-Bachelorโs/Masterโs degree in a relevant field (Social Sciences, Management, Development Studies, or related disciplines).
-Prior experience of 1-2 years in grants/project management, research administration, or partnerships will be an asset.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders.
- Event planning and coordination experience.
- Familiarity with budgeting and financial documentation (preferably in a research or academic setting).
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
