BBC Jobs Video Broadcast Journalist: BBC World Service is an international multimedia broadcaster, part of BBC News, delivering a wide range of language and regional services and working increasingly with other parts of BBC News to serve global audiences. It uses multiple platforms to reach its weekly audience of 320 million globally, including TV, digital platforms including social media, AM, FM, shortwave, digital satellite and cable channels. As part of an historic and exciting expansion, the BBC World Service is introducing four new language services serving audiences in India – Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi and Telugu – to work alongside two existing services, BBC Hindi and BBC Tamil.All six Indian language services will be based predominantly in the BBC’s Delhi bureau, working closely and collaboratively with all teams in that office and with teams in the BBC’s headquarters in London to deliver the best service for BBC audiences.All Language Services are multiplatform, with a multimedia website with a focus on digital video, text, interactivity for both desktop and mobile platforms, and a daily TV news programmes for each service. Each service aims to make international news relevant to an Indian audience, and bring international perspectives to bear on Indian and global developments.We are looking for a Video Broadcast Journalist to be based in Islamabad.

Role Responsibility This is a rare opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Pakistani Video Broadcast Journalist to work across South Asia as a whole. This person will be responsible for maintaining and producing excellent authentic and original news video content for both TV, digital and social media in Pakistan to output from our Delhi Bureau for Indian audiences.The purpose of this role is to ensure that video is published on time to the highest editorial and technical standards, and shared as appropriate across the wider BBC.Flexibility is key; you will be required to assist in video recording and guide the production of video content on request.

The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will be a confident and competent individual with extensive experience in using small cameras and filming video from the field, as you will be producing and editing high quality video content on a regular basis. Therefore, this experience is key as you will be required to train reporters and producers in using small cameras.You must be an autonomous individual who is able to film content efficiently to meet deadlines accordingly.Experience of of FCP X, Davina, Jupiter, Jex, JFE, CPS, the Journalism Portal and other tools and applications is requiredExcellent communication skills are a must and as a result you must be fluent in Urdu, Hindi and English (both written and spoken). Punjabi would be desirable.
