We are seeking a Mid-Level IFRS Consolidation Accountant. The successful candidate will support the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for a diversified holding group. The role offers an opportunity to develop strong technical IFRS expertise and gain hands-on experience in group consolidation, financial reporting, and coordination with multiple subsidiaries. The ideal candidate should have a sound understanding of IFRS, good accounting fundamentals, and some practical exposure to consolidation and group reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
IFRS Conversion & Adjustments
- Review subsidiaries’ local statutory financial statements and trial balances.
- Prepare IFRS conversion working papers and identify required adjustments from local GAAP to IFRS.
- Calculate and post IFRS adjustment entries, including those related to:
- Revenue recognition (IFRS 15)
- Leases (IFRS 16)
- Financial instruments (IFRS 9)
- Business combinations (IFRS 3)
- Foreign currency translation (IAS 21)
- Impairment and fair value adjustments
- Related-party transactions and disclosures
Group Consolidation
- Prepare and upload consolidation journals into the group’s consolidation system.
- Process and review elimination entries, including:
- Intercompany balances
- Intercompany sales and purchases
- Unrealized profits
- Dividends
- Investments in subsidiaries
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
Group Reporting & Disclosures
- Supervise the collection and validation of subsidiary reporting packages.
- Review trial balance uploads and mapping to the group chart of accounts.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of IFRS disclosures and supporting schedules.
- Coordinate with subsidiaries to resolve reporting issues and ensure adherence to reporting deadlines.
Audit & Compliance
- Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit queries.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, group accounting policies, and internal controls.
- Assist in developing and maintaining group accounting manuals and reporting instructions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 05 years of experience in group accounting, consolidation, or external audit.
- Strong practical knowledge of IFRS and consolidated financial statement preparation.
- Experience within a holding group or multinational organization is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Advanced IFRS knowledge and application.
- Strong consolidation and intercompany elimination experience.
- Experience with consolidation/reporting systems (e.g., Oracle FCCS, HFM, SAP BPC, OneStream, Cognos Controller, Tagetik, or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex reconciliations and financial modeling.
Preferred Experience
- Holding company or multi-subsidiary environment.
- Consolidation of foreign operations and multi-currency reporting.
