Role Overview

Opay is seeking an AML Transaction Monitoring Officer to monitor, analyze, and investigate customer and wallet transactions to detect unusual or suspicious activity. The role ensures compliance with SBP AML/CFT Regulations and supports timely escalation and Suspicious Transaction Reporting (STR).

Key Responsibilities:

Review alerts from transaction monitoring systems covering wallet activity, merchant payments, P2P transfers, and cross-border transactions.
Analyze transactional behavior against customer profiles, KYC levels, and EMI product limits.
Conduct detailed investigations using internal systems, customer data, and open-source information.
Escalate suspicious cases to the MLRO and support STR preparation for FMU.
Ensure compliance with SBP AML/CFT Regulations, EMI Regulations, and internal AML policies.
Support audits, compliance reviews, and SBP inspections.
Mentor junior officers, review alert dispositions, and recommend improvements to monitoring rules and thresholds.

Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a relevant field.
3–6 years of AML transaction monitoring or financial crime investigation experience (preferably in EMI, banking, or fintech).
Strong analytical, documentation, and investigation skills.
Understanding of EMI products, wallet limits, merchant models, and digital payment risks.
Certifications such as CAMS, ICA, or equivalent are preferred.

Systems & Tools
Transaction monitoring and AML systems (Actimize, Oracle Mantas, Feedzai, or equivalent).
EMI core platforms and data analytics tools.
Case management and regulatory reporting systems.
