Sr. Design Engineer – Instrument and Control

Department: Design (Process Equipment Division)
Qualification: Bachelor’s Engineering in Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechatronics, with PEC certification.
Experience Required: 8 to 10 years (Oil & Gas / Power sector)

Job Description:

Design and develop instrumentation and control systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
Produce design documentation, including control system drawings, Hook up drawings, cable tray layouts, instrument specifications, and datasheets.
Develop control system architectures, including DCS, PLC, SCADA, and safety systems.
Collaborate with project teams, including electrical, mechanical, and process engineers, to ensure seamless integration of control systems into the overall project.
Ensure designs meet relevant safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and operation phases.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during project execution.
Prepare and review technical reports, manuals, and operation procedures.
Work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure the procurement of appropriate control and instrumentation equipment.
Conduct risk assessments to ensure adherence to industry safety standards and environmental regulations.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ISA, IEC, and ANSI.
Experienced with HAZOP, HAZID, risk assessments, and SIL studies for various projects in the oil & gas and power plant/boiler sectors.
Proficient in P&ID, PFD, schematic, and logic drawings for multiple project types.
In-depth knowledge of field instrument selection, ATG systems, fire and gas detection systems, and various communication protocols (HART, Fieldbus, Canbus, Modbus, etc.).
Expertise in selecting and evaluating control valves, ESDVs, BDVs, and various on/off valves.
