Interim Placement of Fresh PhDs (IPFP) – Phase II, Batch VI

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has launched the Interim Placement of Fresh PhDs (IPFP) program to provide fresh PhD graduates with one year of academic experience and mentorship in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Federal/Provincial Government postgraduate colleges. This program aims to help fresh PhDs transition into the academic job market.

Applications are invited for IPFP Phase-II, Batch VI in all disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria

Pakistani/AJK nationality.
Must be under 40 years of age at the closing date of application.
PhD degree holder from an HEC-recognized university (Pakistan or foreign), completed within the last two years before the advertisement.
At least two research publications in HEC-recognized/indexed journals.
Only unemployed applicants are eligible. Applicants holding temporary/contract jobs in universities or other fields may apply but must resign and provide a clearance certificate if selected.

Programme Rundown

List Circulation: HEC will share the list of successful candidates from the pre-assessment test with institutions for their selection based on institution requirements.
NFDP Training: Candidates accepted by an institution will undergo a free training under the National Faculty Development Program (NFDP) with top international and national trainers. (No stipend will be paid during training).
Placement at Host Institutions: HEC will facilitate placement as an IPFP Fellow at HEIs for one year.
Monetary Benefits: HEC will pay a fixed remuneration of Rs. 150,000 per month for 12 months.

Application Procedure

Apply online at HEC E-Portal before April 15, 2025, at 16:00 hours.
Upload scanned copies of HEC-attested PhD degree (or an equivalence certificate from HEC).
Deposit fee of Rs. 3000/- (non-refundable) via cash, online transfer, or ATM deposit to Habib Bank Limited (Account Number: 1742-79001334-01, Director Finance, HEC).
Submit a hard copy of the printed application form along with documents, photographs, and original deposit slip at the given HEC address.
Hard copy must be properly bounded and flagged; otherwise, it will not be entertained.
Mandatory pre-assessment test on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Minimum 50% in the test is required to qualify for mandatory NFDP training.
Final placement in HEIs is subject to successful completion of NFDP training.
