Job Title: Senior Governance Advisor
Job Level/Grade: Senior Management/ Grade F
No. of Positions: One (01)
Annual Salary Range: PKR 1,620,000- PKR 3,000,000 (Gross Depending on meeting criteria)

The Senior Governance Advisor plays a critical strategizing and guiding role in achievement of CIP’s governance program strategy and goal. This includes developing a governance framework and advocacy approaches, and securing resources to advance CIP’s governance work through adequate program design, marketing and relationships building with relevant donors and private sector. The post will oversee the initiation, development and testing of new and innovative ideas. Models and approaches to influence governance appropriate for the Pakistan context and Care’s strategy. The position ensures mainstreaming a governance lens and advocacy approaches, both at organizational and program level, and to lead on the development of specific governance and advocacy initiatives and related strategic partnerships to achieve long term sustainable impact in Care’s program and strategy.
Masters degree in development/ social sciences or related field.
At least 7 years experience providing technical governance programming guidance in quality design, management, budgeting, M&E and demonstration of impact of rural/urban development/humanitarian programs.
At least 5 years experience in contributing to research/ evaluation, and/or learning and development publications, and policy analysis, and advocacy work related to governance.
At least 3 years experience in fundraising and the development of governance program proposals.
In-depth understanding of key concepts in governance and expertise in applying these in development and humanitarian programs with a wide range of constituencies.
Ability to facilitate learning and reflection activities.
Ability to summarize and synthesize learning into plain written and verbal English and contribute to high Quality publications.
Strong understanding and analysis of Pakistan policy and political context and dynamics regarding poverty, gender equity and women’s empowerment.
Good understanding of the principles of participation, gender equity and women’s empowerment.
Budget management skills. Basic qualitative and quantitative research design and analysis skills.
Strong capacity building and facilitation skills.
