Senior Merchandiser – Landmark International

Position Objective

The job holder will be responsible for the Merchandise Planning Process to assist the Brand to achieve department/category sales, margin, stockholding and flow objectives by supporting Merchandisers and Assistant Merchandisers, under the guidance of the Merchandise Manager and Assistant Merchandise Manager.

1. Merchandise Financial, Strategic and Assortment Planning

 Maximise sales and profitability for the department

 Review, prepare and maintain department/category merchandise MIS analytics including WSSI’s, based on actual sales, sales history and forecasts, covers, company order parameters, inventory checks, forthcoming events, addressing replenishment needs and drawing conclusions from analysis of data

 Assist in discussing, deciding and freezing the department merchandise strategic plan around the following factors:

o Financials: Sales, Stock, Margins, Forward Cover, Sell-throughs, Trackers, Managing OTB by Department, Option Plans

o Store: Subgroup levels sales, Order quantities, rebalancing, Replenishment

o Assortment: Apply logical reasoning in terms of Pricing by category, Supplier, planning Markdown activity,

 Ensure that the standards of Merchandise procedures and methodologies are maintained and kept consistent

 Regular store visits to liaise with Territory Operations Teams as well as Warehouse visits

2. Inventory Stock Optimization

 Liaising with Territory Inventory Teams to ensure optimum category stock levels are maintained at Concept/Territory keeping in mind store requirements as well as working within capital constraints

 Ensure that stock is managed and out of stocks/excess stock risks are minimized through effective merchandise planning and monitoring Merchandisers

 Responsible for ensuring shipments are processed, cleared and hit their desired locations in a timely manner

3. Product Selection, Trend and Competition Research

 Keep abreast of the latest trends in products, brands, styles, designs, fits etc, realign the existing processes

 Analyze the brand within the region or any new territory, and identify any brand customizations required

 Manage and update competition prices / products and provide qualitative inputs to the business

 Conduct Product selection keeping in mind the buying requirements and product research / inputs received above

 Manage and conduct special ranges (e.g. Ramadan)

 Track and report sales on SMUs

4. In Season Management

 Ensure performance is monitored against plan for the department, regularly supported by exception reporting

 Help analyse the existing stock levels and liaise with Product Manager/Concept VM/Marketing team for timely roll out of promotional campaigns to maintain the Territory/Warehouse inventory holding norms as well, to achieve targeted sales

 Ensure effective in season management of the assigned department through regular analysis and action planning across Concept and Territory, based on the performance of the following anchors:

o Sales vs Stock

o Inflows/OTB

o Stock Analysis

o Stock Balancing

o Margin Analysis

o WSSI’s management

5. People Management

 Support and provide guidance for Merchandisers and Assistant Merchandisers

 Monitor trainee development
