Perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Prioritize office activities and delegate work to student and/or casual employees. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of University and school registration policies and procedures. Interact with the general public and act as NYU contact/liaison. Interact with students, faculty and various University offices/staff including those at the senior level regarding specific issues and problems. Monitor joint degree and other cross registrations, change of program and credit-fail options; review records of prospective graduates to verify completion of degree requirements, and follow up on missing grades. Customize and/or compose letters in response to requests for information. Use reporting tools; modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets. Perform general word processing duties utilizing intermediate to advanced-level functions.
High School diploma or Associate’s degree
Bachelor’s degree. Experience working in a school registration office.
2 years of related experience or equivalent (with Associate’s degree) or 3 years of related experience (with High School diploma). Experience providing a high level of customer service.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.):
Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding 0-0+ words per minute). Good proofreading and writing skills, and ability to perform detailed work.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.):
Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office or proficiency with Apple. Knowledge of desktop publishing software. Knowledge of Access.
