‘As a federal enterprise, the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. GIZ implements for the German Ministry of Development Cooperation (BMZ) up to 2015 the TVET Reform Support Programme. The GIZ is seeking a Liaison Officer for implementation of TVET Reform Support Programme in each of the following provinces/areas; Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and in Azad Jammu& Kashmir.

Job title: Liaison Officer (Reference No. TVET 2013/10)

Qualifications and Experience/Requirements:

Master degree preferably in a subject related to educational systems development.
Five years work experience in humanitarian/development environment or a related field (i.e.. international affairs, disaster response, information management etc.)
Excellent liaison, inter-personal and general communication skills.
Proven leadership, analytical, oratory, presentation and report writing skills Proficient in Urdu, English and preferably Pashto
Applicants must be resident in aforementioned provinces/areas

Job Description:
Develops and maintains relationships with local stakeholders in the TVET sector: Provides orientation and maintains information sharing practices with stakeholders based within regions;

Identifies and collates existing information on trades, occupations and sectors within the respective province / region with the aim to identify employment trends;
Promotes the National Skills Strategy (NSS) to stakeholders in line with implementation plans of the three TVET Reform Support Programme components. This will include advising the TVET Support Programme on capacity needs within the provinces / regions and facilitate the implementation of related capacity building measures;
Identifies needs and requirements of local stakeholders to assist them in obtaining the objectives of TVET Reform, including district and divisional governments, civil society, private sector and local NGOs
