Jobs In UNICEF – Chief Field Operations

The  chief of  Field Operations will, under the overall guidance of the Representative, be responsible for overseeing the implementation and monitoring of the Pakistan Country Programme through the provision of strategic guidance, oversight and coordination of programme interventions at provincial and sub-provincial levels so as to ensure that the rights of children and women are upheld by duty bearers and rights holders in Pakistan. Act as change agent in the introduction of new Programmatic approaches and Organizational Changes. Within the expanding realm of the UN ‘Delivering as One’ Reform in Pakistan, the post will guide the strong integration of UNICEF Pakistan’s ‘One UN’ programme activities that are implemented through UNICEF Provincial Offices with that of other UN, Government and NGO partners at provincial and sub-provincial levels. In close cooperation with the Deputy Representative and Chief, Planning M&E the  Chief of  Field Operations will also be responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and monitoring of UNICEF Pakistan’s emergency preparedness and response interventions in field areas that are affected by natural or man-made disasters including complex emergency settings.

Desired Skills and Experience

Education

  • Advanced university degree in any of the following:Social Sciences, Public Administration, International Relations, Business Administration, Public Health, Education, or other fields related to the work of UNICEF.
  • *A first university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of advanced university degree.

Work Experience

  • Ten years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in social sciences, development, management, monitoring and evaluation. Prior successful experience(s) in emergencies required.

Language

  • Fluency in English and another UN working language required. Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is an asset.
